If Mizzou leaves we got to 12. If they stay we stay at 10 until 2015 IMO.

Per McMurphy at CBS sports...if Mizzou stays, B12 likely to stay at 10 teams, if Mizzou goes...

Notre Dame's football independence now at risk - CBSSports.com

And if Missouri leaves for the SEC, sources have told CBSSports.com the Big 12 will likely add three more schools to get to 12 members. At the top of that list, sources said, is Louisville, along with a combination of BYU, West Virginia, Cincinnati or Tulane.

mU please leave tomorrow. We want to get back to 12 and don't need crybabies like you.

Best thing for the league would be to keep MU, and add both UL and WVU. I don't know how you could circumvent the SEC in such a way to keep MU and bring WV, but that's what I would want to see happen.

Maybe you'd have to offer WVU now?

It sounds like the service academies have said thanks but no thanks to the Big East. I see no way WV and Louisville want any part of that conference. I think both apply eithere with or without Mizzou to the Big 12 and no way the Big 12 turns them down. I think this conference is more stable today than maybe for the last 10 years.

Yeah, at this point the big east has got to be in severe danger of losing its BCS bid, you'd think they'd be searching for an exit pronto. I hope the big 12 leaders do the right thing and accept their applications.

I haven't heard anywhere the service academies saying no...they've just said, keep your teams and then we'll decide.

Is this conference worthy of BCS status?

If we go to 12 sooner we'll renegotiate the Tier 1 deal.

I could be wrong, but the Tier I deal was originally being negotiated for 12, with CU and kNU. The renegotiation already occurred when we went to 10, ABC/ESPN agreed to allow us to keep the same amount for 10 teams, meaning more for everybody who stayed. I don't think they have a whole lot of incentive to let us come back for more if we go to 12 again.

agree this is better than august, but reality is Texas arrogance forced some national brands to jump, I like how it is trending now in terms of what might have been, but had Texas had their reality check in round 1 we wouldn't be debating the merits of Tulane vs Louisville vs service academies vs religion vs hillbillies all of these are -less than what we had mason jars, corn holes, and jumping tiggers better yes but not how it should be .
forgot cu, oops no loss there

I know Navy came out and dismissed the chances and sounds like Air force wants to stay in the MW.

I still don't see the push for West Virginia! The closest big city to fly into is Pittsburgh and just the traveling expenses alone will be high b/c of that. Yes, the Big 12 can get a foot in the door to West Virginia but that really doesn't buy the conference that much considering how close they are located to Ohio State, Pitt, Penn St, Virginia Tech, etc... TV market wise.

IMO, the Big 12 needs to add TCU, BYU, Louisville and Air Force. This will get the Big 12 into Utah, Kentucky and back into Colorado and with the national following of BYU and Air Force, can add TV sets around the world.

After those four, I think the Big 12 needs to go after Cinci, New Mexico, Colorado St or Wyoming. These schools add the states of Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. All schools that add new stomping grounds for the Big 12 that fit geographically and don't involve the state of Texas.

I mean that they'd negotiate the deal out til the end of the Fox deal instead of waiting for the current deal to expire.

I hate to say it since we almost had the same fate, but no. Adding quantity does nothing after losing Pitt and WVU from a conference that already seems like it doesn't belong to the BCS most years.
