No need to worry about bowl games in the SEC. You won't be going to any.
Theres a chance they could pull a Liberty Bowl bid every 5 years or so...

But the Aggy monster thread lives on, even though they've departed...
2009 Iowa state went to the better bowl, 2008 it was Kansas? If your point is, Missouri fans only show support in th e post season for national championships, then let me be the first to tell you that is unlikely to ever happen. Missouri may have an option but its not because of fan support and the tv argument is suspect since our game will not be aired, you would think with the 3rd biggest markets you would rank better than Baylor in getting on tv
And the Mods could (as we've suggested) rename the thread the "Big 12 Realignment Thread" or something similar.
Maybe something like:
**Official Realignment Thread (X:XXPM: Latest news update here)**
With the latest news put in the thread title (edited by mods every so often) so that people dont have to come in and go 'what's the latest?'

Nope. My point is (and I acknowledge this may not even represent most Mizzou fans) I don't care about bowl assignments (other than maybe the matchup. I prefer a major conference team). Where we play? What's the "pecking order?" How much is the "payout"? (which goes to the conf. anyway) just doesn't matter to me.
I do think that a conference has a responsibility to its members first, and the funky blazer gang second. That means not maintaining tie-ins with EVERY bowl in Texas, because it's good for "bid-ness." That also means that you don't turn over the selection process to the C&V bureau of the bowl town. What do they care about competition? I don't care if all conferences do it...it's still wrong. Crappy destinations + no emphasis for on-the-field results = a fan base that averages 60K+ per game at home, and yet has a poor "traveling reputation." Oh, well.

Your view doesn't represent that of most fans period.
You seriously sound completely, utterly desperate to justify the SEC. Face it, the only reason MU fans want the SEC is because its not the Big XII. You all showed your hand last year when you went begging to the Big Ten. Now, you think you can save face by going somewhere else. Your fan base suffered one of the most embarrassing miscues of all time and are now not able to face fans from your current conference.
BUT... it's OK. We actually still want you. It will make the old rivalries even more fun. Believe it or not, you belong in the Big XII.
I looking anxiously forward to the day when the Big XII is stable at 12+ teams and the media moves on to someone else taking this s***, not ISU. I'm extremely tired of the BS. C'mon Missouri..you got the invite or not?Per McMurphy at CBS sports...if Mizzou stays, B12 likely to stay at 10 teams, if Mizzou goes...

And if Missouri leaves for the SEC, sources have told CBSSports.com the Big 12 will likely add three more schools to get to 12 members. At the top of that list, sources said, is Louisville, along with a combination of BYU, West Virginia, Cincinnati or Tulane.

I confused as to why Mizzou determines whether we go 10 or 12. Why if they stay we stay at 10? Why if they leave we jump to 12? Any insight?![]()

If Mizzou leaving means we go back to 12... good riddance!
