The Big 12 season is what really matters

The last two losses will not be counted as "bad" losses by the NCAA selection commitee. It really comes down to winning 10 games in the Big 12. We must win 7 of our 8 home games and find a way to win 3 on the road. Do that and we are probably at least a bubble team come selection Sunday.

Agreed. We will likely have to win at least 10 to be in. KSU got left out with 24 wins a few years ago and a 10-6 Big 12 record but the rep of the league this year will likely mean any team with double digit conference wins is automatically in.

I think that's the problem. How are we supposed to beat teams like Texas A&M, Kansas State and Oklahoma State if we cannot be UN-freaking-I inside of Hilton

I agree partially. Where you finish in the conference is most important but home losses to mid major teams can come back to haunt you. A win against duke in January may balance this out but it still is a huge blemish on our resume.

UNI would give a lot of Big 12 teams a good game. They are a defending conference champion with their top 9 or ten players returning. If I am not mistaken they beat Boston College earlier this year. This loss is not the end of the world.

A home loss to UNI is going to look bad on the resume if we become a bubble team. If we win enough games in conference play to be better than a bubble team, than last nights loss wont mean much.

Teams have bad games. Last night was one of those for ISU. If that type of performance is what we see all year, than we will not beat those teams. If this team plays to their potential, they should be OK.

I remain optimistic!

I'd normally partially agree with you but with already losing to NW and still having to play at Cal and against Duke in the nonconference it's going to really hurt.

10 wins is tough, other than KU I don't think many teams have done that the last few years.

It's becoming a trend. This is 3 similar poor games in a row.

They're not in the Big XII. They're in the MVC. Being in the Big XII automatically makes you better..... It's all about affilation, not quality.

All we need to do is play with intensity. That was missing the last 2 or 3 games. I want ot see us runningand gunning against CAL.

I don't mind losing to UNI as much as I hate the fact that this team is obviously not who we thought they were. At least at this point in time. If we can't beat UNI in Hilton god help us agaisnt Duke or anyone with a pulse in conference play. Our margin for error this year is razor sharp thin and we've already blown a load down our legs...we are in trouble.

They also lost to a Depaul team who went winless in the Big East last year.

I would agree if it was on the road. Potential tourney at-larges teams and conference champions of the major conferences should NOT be losing to UNI at home, period.

uni did beat bc by 12 and bc just won at michigan last night. good grief losses happen in bball. northwestern has blown out notre dame and at nc state. we lost both games by a total of 5 points. it isn't that bad so far.

And Oklahoma State lost by 21 to mid major Tulsa last night. Should they throw in the towel on their season also?

Never said we should throw in the towel, just stating a fact. UNI has the potential to be good this year but I don't see them winning the MVC. If they don't make the tourney, this loss could bite us. Here's to beating cal and duke and forgetting about it.

Who do you see winning the MVC than?
