We're hearing talk about a pending $25 mil facilities gift upcoming soon. That reminds me about my conversation with Jamie Pollard at the recent Cedar Rapids tent rally. I asked him about more specifics regarding financing and scheduling of Jack Trice expansion. His comment to me was that his immediate job is to scratch up $25 million of guaranteed gift money. Once he does that, he said, he will pull the triger on using revenue-type bonding to accomplish the $65 million bowling-second decking project.
Thus it sounds like a donor gift of $25 mil (from Albaugh?) would mean that we can break ground very soon on this project. If the big gift comes soon, big things will be happening and happening soon. Let's hope.

That would be really great, and with this $25 mil gift do you think comes Jack Trice Field at Albaugh stadium or vice versa?

Dennis isn't like that, he's very unassuming. I don't know him personally, but I could walk up to him and start a conversation with him, and if you were with me, you wouldn't know you were in the company of a billionaire.

However; he is interested in leaving a legacy, and doing it the right way. He just recently donated 10 acres to the city of Ankeny for a second aquatic center, and he is turning the old ISU farm into a new planned community. He also donated $25MM to his alma mater, DMACC.

I think the key is if he likes the way things are being run at ISU
he will be the lead contributer and we can call it Albaugh Pavillion or something like that. He wouldn't ask to have naming rights to the field or stadium, IMO.
