I want to preface this by saying that I hope Harrison Barnes achieves great things in his career, and hope that he go on to the NBA and give the state of Iowa something to be very proud of...
But, I also think that what happened today only makes Craig Brackins that much more amazing. This guy was recruited by some of the top teams in the nation as well, but had the vision and trust in the Iowa State program and ended up coming to Iowa State. I cannot say enough about what kind of pressure must have been on him to make a different decision. He could have been more prominent elsewhere, could have played in a bigger market, could have picked a team that recevied more national attention... but he picked us
He, and everyone else on our basketball team, is a great ambassador for our program... and it makes me truly glad to be a cyclone fan when people like him take ownership of the program, and strive to do everything they can to make it better. He didnt care about the national spotlight, he made hs decision based on the relationships he had with our coaching staff, and that kind of maturity is very hard to find in today's game
