Yeah they really kicked us in the nuts last night.
OSU and Texas winning last night could have gone a long ways for us for Big 12 Tourney.
Look on the bright side, if Texas wins last night they are only a game behind us with Iowa State coming to Austin. That would be far more embarrassing than finishing behind Baylor.
Agree - plus I kind of like the odds of that type of loss really taking the wind out of UT's sails and sets ISU up to put the nail in their coffin for the season.
Drew has to be Big XII COY this year. You could make a case for Beard as well depending on how they finish.
Thought about this. Moot point because Texas ended up losing, but Texas still has to play @Tech who is 7-1 at home this year (
). So counting that one as a loss for Shaka and assuming we could at least win 1 of our last 2 games to tie Texas' record at 10-8, we would win the tiebreaker I believe due to better record against Texas Tech. We both split with Kansas and KState fwiw.
I've said for a long time that Drew is way undervalued for his coaching, and that he's certainly a COY candidate this go around. Shaka's time in Austin with a new AD there now has to be measured in weeks.
I'm curious to see what Beard does.
Some may not like the bright lights of Austin and I'm not sure he's arrogant enough to fit there.
Eh, it's not like they can do any better. Look at that last dud they had. Heard he was washing cars in TN or something.
While Texas has more money than God, I heard Shaka has UT on the line for $13 million if they part ways.... add that to a buyout of a new guys existing contract and it can get steep in a hurry.... You know what they say.... a few million here, a few million there, soon we are talking real money....
