I have a 75” one in the upstairs living room and a 65” one in the downstairs living room for the past 2 years. No issues at all so far. Only TV I’ve ever had issues with was a Vizio in college. Some of those TVs were junk.

I bought a 55 inch last October after my old one blew out during game day. We went to Target and looked.
I had never heard of TCL until then. The youngman helping us said he had one and enjoyed his. For a little over 300 bucks I figured if I got 4 or 5 years it would still be worth it. I've had it for 9 months and no problem so far.

Bought a series 6 and a discolored spot just showed up, so I guess we’ll see how good their customer service is. It’s under warranty but not sure I still have the receipt.

From everyone else’s accounts I’m just unlucky though.

I have no experience with TCL, but my opinion is to avoid the built-in Roku. Just get the TV you want and buy a separate Roku device. In my limited experience, the dedicated devices are faster than the built-in software, and as Roku comes out with better and faster devices, it's easy to upgrade. I have a Roku Ultra for the living room and a couple of Expresses in other rooms. The Express would be fine for your daughter, and they're currently $24 for HD or $30 for 4K on Amazon.

TCL series 6 has high quality video, up there with the Samsungs and LG's that run about $300-400 higher in price.

They are not OLED quality but still a good picture

And you cannot beat the built in Roku, works great. 1 less thing to connect to your TV.

It's perfectly fine. I have had mine go black while watching twice but it came right back to work immediately. Not sure what that was but other than that it's been great.
