Per Jeremy's information posted yesterday regarding an LOI to Smith and possibly Love. I posted something similar to this thread a couple of weeks ago. I hope ISU signs Smith and one big guy (maybe Love or the 'mystery' guy). That will still leave ISU with two scholarships for '07 (Jessan Gray + one leftover open scholarship). This approach will add depth to the guard court and continue to fill the hole in the middle. As others have noted, ISU is only an injury away from being in serious trouble in the guard court. Here's hoping that Smith signs.

Jeremy, have you heard anything in this regard? Specifically Smith, and perhaps the 'Mystery' guy? I'm guessing the mystery guy is becoming more of a long shot since we haven't heard anything. I remember you saying that you were hoping to post something over this past weekend.
I really don't like the idea of filling the roster will late in the year recruits. By now they have been picked over pretty good, and if mcd is half the recruiter you all seem to believe he is, i would like to have at least 3 freshmen come in next year so we don't get a gut punch when clarks class leaves. I would really hate to be in a colorado situation, ,,which is pretty much what we would be headed for in a couple years.
Agreed with discomb and Rip, I don't want to settle for leftover recruits this year and would rather have solid players come in next year. Though I am happy with the guys we signed so far. I don't know if I would like Smith unless we know 100% Blalock is not coming back, even so... the talent doesn't seem to be what we could get for the future and would only hurt recruiting next year, and leave us hanging for 08
I think McD will throw us a few surprises in the next couple years.

I think we should take one more power forward and bank the schollies for next year. We should also hope to he!! that Will comes back. If this happens, we have a chance to be a very solid team. I still think we will be solid with a shot at sneaking into the tourney. It will all depend on how hard this team works and responds to our coaches.
