Tiger Lane ( the green section on the parking map) is the main tailgating area. You will have to have spots reserved there in advance to turn in the tiger lane gates. Each spot has electrical and a 10' x 10' grass area for an easy up.

The Liberty Bowl is also pre-selling passes for the blue and red lots. Day of game parking is mostly going to be on the south side of the bowl (tan and purple on the map), accessed through gate 10 and gate 11. If you are having trouble finding a place to park gate 10 is normally the last place to cut off parking, it feeds directly into the grass "purple lot" that fills up last.

The grass purple lot is honestly a great area to tailgate with grass and trees. and plenty of room given the way they lay out the rows.

We really appreciate the help. Looking forward to tailgating with some of you.

And you deserve a nomination for best new username of the year!

@u_of_elvis @TigerAF I'm thinking of having bbq catered in for tailgate. Is there an area I can reserve where a caterer can get access to or any recommendations on how to make it work? Thanks

So my question for anyone taking an RV down Thursday is where are you keeping it or parking it until the stadium lots open Friday morning? Me and some buddies decided taking the RV might be the way to go, but we’d have to find a place to stay or keep it for Thursday night until we can get it set up 8am Friday morning.

I was thinking of taking ours down also. Tentative plan would be to stay at EZ DAZE RV Park in Southaven arriving Wednesday afternoon. Then take the RV to the RV tailgating area (Blue Lot #15) on Friday morning. After the game then take it back to EZ DAZE for a few days of celebration and relaxing touring the area. Having the RV in the tailgating area would be an absolute blast.

Full hookups in a luxury RV Park for $44/night including tax isn't too bad!

We did that for the 1977 Peach Bowl and made memories that last a lifetime.

The Liberty Bowl website does mention that there is an RV storage facility a few miles from the stadium that could be used, but that looks like you'd have to rent it for a month. https://www.moveitstorage.com/self-...ssee/memphis-tn-storage-units/2700-getwell-rd.

04-12-2007-2.jpg This will be the 40th anniversary of our RV tailgating trip to the Peach Bowl in 1977. The wife and I and another ISU couple, friends of ours, rented a brand new Coachmen motorhome in Columbia, MO and took it to the bowl game. Great times.

Is anyone doing the pre-game buffet and party put on by ISU? I went to it last time and recall it was a cluster getting in as everyone lined up way before the doors opened.

The tickets say 11:30 am, but that cannot be right. Anyone know when the doors open this time?

I agree. Central is one of the city’s bbq joints, within walking distance of Tiger Lane, and they deliver.

Check out their website for ordering info.
Thanks for the info, I think we may do that. I've cooked Memphis in May a couple times and thought it would be cool to have Malcolm Reed (Killer Hogs) or Mellisa Cookston (Memphis bbq co)cater for us. But since I missed out on securing a designated spot, it will be a pain logistically. We have 5 passes for Lot 13, right now and will add another 4 or 5. Looks like that lot is pretty big. Any advice on best place to set up a group(100 people)tailgate? Where we could spread out alittle and not be in the way of others trying to park. Would there be some area by the Coliseum or maybe one of the corners? Thanks again for the help.

Get there early and park right up against the road. There are 8-10' wide green spaces behind those spots. I've parked/ tailgated in the blue lot for years and used this strategy. Always a good time. Also, seek out a power source, they aren't as plentiful in those lots.

I see lots of references to power outlets for tailgating. Are there any of these around Jack Trice Stadium? As far as I can tell, we all just bring generators. Kudos to the Liberty Bowl for finding a way to upgrade our tailgating!

Power sources? Are you telling me there are plug ins available in Lot 13? If so is there a map? How many? Can I run a drop cord? If it saves me from bringing my Honda genny, that would be great.

Currently there are no power outlets although I believe there are plans to add electric hook ups for a new RV lot.

We have no electrical outlets for tailgating at Jack Trice Stadium. I agree that it's a great idea for the Liberty Bowl Stadium. It takes tailgating to a whole new level. This has been an idea of mine for quite some time. It could be a money maker for the athletic department as people would be willing to pay/donate more for electrical at the site. The problem would be that we only have five or six home games per year that we could charge for those sites to recoup our construction costs and then make a profit.

The Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium is more than a stadium. They also host events there and at Tiger Lane and at adjacent facilities year around so that they can recoup their costs for electrical installation a lot easier.

There are 4 individual outlets outside of JTS. The story is, oneday an electrical bill comes across Jamie's desk for him to authorize payment. Not knowing what it was for Jamie calls the contractor for an explaination. Guy says its for running power out to one of the donors spots. Jamie replies that he didn't authorize it. After finding out where the outlets are located, Jamie calls the donor. After Jamie introduces himself, donor asks if his power has been installed. Jamie says, so you know about this. Donor says, Yes who do you think called the contractor? I am sure there is more to the story than what I know. Before you call BS on me, here is a pic of it. Looks like they struck an agreement by adding its own meter. The donor has cooked for the football team numerous times and hosts the wrestlers tailgates. Notice Hilton in the background. Park as far North as you can. I'm 100% certain there are some there. There are 3-4' light posts placed sporadically along the roads throughout the lots that have 2 plugs each.

Talked to some friends, bring that Honda, the tan lot is without power, unless you can swing one of those twenty or so spots that back up to Tiger Lane.

Ok, I can't believe this hasn't been asked yet and I can't find it addressed on the Autozone Liberty Bowl website. According to the venue's website faqs. http://www.thelibertybowlstadium.com/faq/ stadium reentry is allowed. Will the event, Autozone Liberty bowl, have the same policy or do they even really enforce this policy? Thanks again.

We are season ticket holders, and I have always been under the impression that there is no reentry allowed, so it the Liberty Bowl allows it, that would be different from Tigers games. I am not sure if I would believe the website at all. It states that the parking lots open 2 hours before event time, and we all know that isn’t true.
