First of all, if you don’t have one of these I HIGHLY recommend you get one these Presto Nomads for tailgating. It’s an insulated slow cooker with a lid that seals so you don’t spill it everywhere. A must have for farmers taking meals to the field too. This is an 8 qt but they also make a 6qt.

I’m looking for crockpot ideas for the game Saturday. Anybody have any secret family recipes/ideas they are willing to share? It's a little too early/warm to do soup/chili... that time will come.

TIA.

I have a single burner Blackstone. Wish I would've gotten at least the bigger two burner like your photo. I've done phillys and smashburgers already but could certainly do it again. Last year my family loved chicken and peppers marinaded in Italian dressing cooked on the Blackstone served in pita bread.

Those are great options, but OP specifically asked for crockpot ideas.. did you just purposefully give all your ideas that DON'T involve a crockpot?

If you’re willing to start early, I do the following:

3-4 lb pork roast
1 cup beef stock
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup basalmic vinegar
~2 tbsp honey
Metric ****-ton of garlic
(If you want more then you can easily double it if it fits in your slow cooker)

Night before, dry rub the pork with a heavy coating of salt, pepper, onion powder, cayenne, pepper, paprika, bit of cumin (or any spices you like) and place in the garlic/liquid marinade.

Cook that sucker on low for 10-12 hours. Occasionally flip it over until soft enough for it to fall apart and be completely submerged.

Pull it with 2 forks in a big Tupperware or other bowl when ready, get plenty of the drippings in with the meat.

Insanely good (and easy) pulled pork.

I have a big blackstone and a big pizza oven. I've considered getting 'tailgate' versions of each.

How do you do pizzas? I saw somebody in D4 last year with a setup, and had a couple dozen wooden peels with pre-made pizzas on them. I should have talked to them, as it looked like a well oiled machine.

Mississippi pot roast. I smoke mine in a dutch oven, but you can do it in a slow cooker. Makes for great sandwiches.

usually wait until colder games to do pizzas as you have to spread all the ingredients out and dont want them to spoil in the heat

have only done 1 per season. its more work as you can only do 1 pizza at a time and each are individual.

Nashville hot chicken. Recipe easy to find online. If you like the ease of pulled pork, but want spicy instead of sweet or smoky.

Basically pulled chicken, in a hot sauce. Just throw some on a bun with a little ranch and some dill pickles. Delish and really easy to deal with.

Agree the beans debate this will destroy the thread.

Disagree though, beans DO belong in chili. Chili without beans is just sloppy joes.
oof. slight disagreement with you there. Do you put ketchup and mustard in your chili, or chili powder in your sloppy joes?

I did pizzas for the UNI game last year. You do need a couple people helping because you go through pellets fast and you need someone to assemble the pizzas quickly. The pizzas cook in about a minute and my friends were not prepared for how quickly they cooked. I recommend buying the pre-made crusts just to make it easier to assemble (even though they aren't as good). If your group is organized, you can cook a ton of pizzas in a short time.
