Verizon upped our rates on our current plan to try to force us into a more expensive unlimited plan. Recently signed my parents up for T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and it's been a game changer for them since all other home internet options for them sucked. They live in rural SW IA. I live in Texas.

Now we're thinking about switching from Verizon to T-Mobile. Can anyone who has used T-Mobile for their cell service in the last year tell me about their experience with them? Is coverage decent? I know all providers have dead spots, even Verizon. We'd probably get the Magenta Max plan and upgrade our phones to 5G devices.

Switched from Verizon to T Mobile a year and a half ago.

No noticeable difference for me in coverage (the hills of far NE Iowa are a problem regardless of carrier). I've been more than happy with it and I'm paying 35% less than I was with Verizon. Haven't looked back.

I switched to T-Mobile around 5 years ago... I've got fantastic service in Central Iowa and couldn't be happier. I also love that I have full service in Mexico each spring break. Been using T-Mobile home internet as well and love it, although I'm really lucky that I have 5G Ultra Capacity so I get about 700 Mb download for only $45 a month.

We were long-time Sprint customers. Then T-Mobile and Sprint merged and we were automatically put on the T-Mobile 5G UC cell network. At that time I upgraded our phones to 5G. So far it's been great, very good reception while traveling and at a decent price. I tested it and got 400-500 Mbps download.

We don't use the T-Mobile cell network while at home since the phones automatically switch to our home Wi-Fi network. We don't have the T-Mobile home internet. We'll switch to T-Mobile's Unlimited 55+ cell phone plan in March that is $55/mo for two lines.

Verizon jacked up our prices 10+ years ago so we switched to Sprint (now T-mobile) and never looked back. You'll get slightly less coverage if you're off the beaten path but it's not too noticeable compared to when we had Verizon.

We were on Sprint, but the process of converting to T Mobile was pretty ridiculous, so we went to US Cellular. The Service with US Cellular has been good, but expensive. Probably going to look at T Mobile plus their home internet once we are out of our initial one year thing with US cellular.

We had T mobile for a number of years and had no problems....until my wife started working a few days a month in Omaha. Downtown Omaha had zero coverage. Hopefully that's been resolved.

I have US mobile and its amazing. Its all online based no actual stores anywhere but you can pick if you want to go with T-mobile or Verizon but just a a much lower cost then going direct with them. Depending on how many people you have on your plan you can get it as low as 30$ a month. Also you can mix and match with their plans so you can have some on Tmobile or Verizon which is pretty nice!

I know T-Mobile has made a lot of changes within the last couple of years including expanding their coverage area. So I'm mostly interested in hearing about recent experiences with 5G users. T-Mobile has the largest 5G coverage area of any provider right now. I don't know if 4G users get less coverage since they aren't using 5G.

We have T-Mobile. It generally works well in Minnesota. It works less well (but has been improving rapidly) in rural Iowa but is fine if there is a place nearby with even a decent population. Their customer service people are actually helpful.

The UConnect System (cell phone app remote start) on my wife's Jeep uses the T-Mobile network. They shut down 3G last year. While Jeep gave us an adapter to use either 4G or 5G (I can't remember which), I have found out its spotty where it works due to signal strength. It does not work at my office in Carroll to the point where I decided not to pay for the service in my truck. At home it works fine. Last season it was 50-50 on wether it worked or not at Hilton leaving a basketball game. Nothing sucks worse than a bad loss and then getting into a cold car with a cold seat.

I've been on a Sprint (SWAC) Friend's and Family plan for about 13 years. Once T-mobile began phasing out the old Sprint network we made the switch and have been on a T-mobile band/SIM for about a year. For reference I am in the KC area, about 3 miles from the Sprint Campus.

The GF and I are rocking older phones so we aren't able to take advantage of all of the spectrum bands. We routinely drop calls, often during tower to tower handoffs, and the data can be spotty. It's hard to say how much of it is the local service and how much of it is the age of our phones and not having the full spectrum at our disposal.

I will say, going forward, that T-Mobile should be well positioned due to its vast caches of spectrum. That includes providing broadband services as well as limiting data throttling.

For $35 a month, per line, after taxes and fees it's hard to think about switching. The dropped calls are annoying but it's not bad enough to override the price point. FYI the "employee" I was under an employee that left Sprint about 3 years ago and we've been "grandfathered" on this plan. Until we get booted we will stay. LOL.
