I think I would have voted for Gavin. He was involved in a lot of crucial votes, maybe he tried to sell that to the jury, but looked like he could have done more from the edit they showed last night. Chris came in and did everything he could do, and yeah winning immunity, giving it up, and beating Devens in the fire challenge was pretty BA, but I can't get by the fact that he wasn't doing anything for 28 (or however many) days, wasn't involved in votes, staying alive, being on the right side of votes, etc.

It was close, imo, but I would have voted for Gavin.

Devins is the one who will be remembered the most for this season and will go down as one of the best players not to win. After he was eliminated, I really didn't care who won but I thought Gavin might have deserved it a little more. Chris had the advantage of making a ton of friends on exile and I think that is what put him over the top.

I'm not so sure he's as great as the show's edit made him out to be. I could name quite a few people better than Devins that didn't win (Dom last spring for example), but he was probably the most theatrical person I can remember with great confessionals. His game however was pretty linear. If he didn't have advantages, what moves did he really orchestrate simply from social strategy?

He wasn't ever really PART of the society. He was an outsider the day he came back from the Edge. Any social strategy consisted of him making others doubt themselves or their alliances.

He had some "pull" early, then got tossed aside and had to fight from the bottom. Much like Ben from a few seasons ago.

He wasn't ever really PART of the society. He was an outsider the day he came back from the Edge. Any social strategy consisted of him making others doubt themselves or their alliances.

That's why I thought he played a strong game without ever being part of the majority alliance. He planted seeds of doubt in others minds several times and was able to flip some votes at key tribals several times. Everyone was so obsessed with trying to get him out they weren't always looking at their next moves or their own vulnerability at tribal and that short sightedness caught a few people off guard. Last night was hilarious when he made the comment that all 5 were going to tribal thinking they were safe but really only 3 of them were. Those 2 girls basically stopped playing strategy once they both thought they had idols. It really turned out to be a million dollar fire making challenge because Devins had so many moments throughout the season that built up his resume and even Chris told Lauren that the jury was pretty much between Devins and Victoria at that point. I think everyone left knew for several votes leading up to the final 4 Devins was the guy to beat but they just couldn't get him out with the immunity he kept winning or finding.

It's a much tougher path to navigate to the end without an alliance but it also builds a stronger resume of moves too if you can get there. It's the same kind of game Ben had to play a few seasons ago in order to win. Devins just couldn't pull off that final win like Ben did to secure his spot.

Terrible ending. How do I vote a guy that played a few days over the other two. I can’t stand when shows end like this. It’s sooo frustrating
