Iowa State just lost to Drake in Hilton...this is by far the lowest I have seen the program. I'm in it for the long haul, I'm a clone to the end....but these are the darkest days. Losing to UNI and Drake is about as low as it gets...Hope McD knows what he is doing...

Lowest you have ever seen the program? Really? That is dramatic. There have been darker days than this, my friend Jordan. Buck up camper, it'll be alright!

Damn Jordan, I cringe to think of how you react to a bad day at school:eek4wd:

The final days of LE were much lower and much darker. What makes you think McDermott does not know what he is doing?

If you expect anything this season you are a moron! Sit back, go to the games, support the team, and watch them learn and grow. I thought we would start out 10-3, but then i thought we would finish with a 16-15 record. So dont let a decent start against inferior competition fool you, we arent great.

I assume McD is a lot smarter than I am, if not I would be the coach...so..i assume he knows what he is doing...however, i can walk down to the rec and find 5 guys that will give Drake a run...

Really? Are you going to the "academically ineligible college athletes" gym? There are a lot of programs that would take Drake's players and improve from them.

Get a clue. You assume GMac knows what he is doing? That has been proven from his past experience. I assume you are not serious about finding 5 guys at the rec.

I really don't think that we are very low right now. Yes, we lost to Drake at Hilton today, but we lost by 0.1 seconds of play. We battled back from a 16 point deficit (which I didn't even think would be possible), and we didn't play a horrible game. Our defense wasn't good, but Drake is a very experienced team who hit some contested shots, and I don't think we did all that badly today. Our biggest mistake was turnovers, and those can happen in masses when you have an entirely new guard corps. You can't just learn how to react in situations in practice, it just doesn't happen that way.

The biggest thing that I like seeing from this team is the battle and heart to come back from being down big at the half (both vs. UNI and Drake), and finishing out the game strong. We didn't win today, but we've got the ingredients for success in the future. Let's do all we can do and cheer on our Clones.

rec ball is sloppy, yes kids look good there, but that is because everyone plays loose defense and trys to showboat on offense. if they were so great why aren't they on the team. there is a reason the kids we do have are on scholarship

Right now, we may not, as a team, be much better than Drake. In athleticism, we have the clear cut advantage, but athleticism isn't always what decides basketball games. If it was, games wouldn't be a whole lot of fun to watch, and Kansas would be undefeated in the Big XII every year. The fact is that we can't win every game with only 4 scholly players returning, and we should expect to lose some that we should win just because of the lack of experience.

No you could not. If you could, those players would at least be walk-ons for our team. That just might be the dumbest comment I have ever seen anyone type on here. Thats like saying Ohio State could give a team like the Cleveland Browns a run for there money. There is just absolutly no way in hell.

losing to drake is that bad huh? if i remember correctly, our 1999-2000 team lost to drake 44-40, and that season we ended up being the second best team in the nation behind michigan state. granted we definitely don't have marcus fizer or jamaal tinsley, but it is obvious that we are growing and maturing. i personally believe GMac is doing a terrific job so far with only four returning lettermen. Go Clones!
