Okay. In crunching the remaining games for the teams ahead of us: If OU loses out (ISU, @Okie St), Baylor loses out (@KSU, TTech), KSU wins out (Baylor, @texas), and ISU wins out (@OU, TCU).

In the above scenario, we have a 3 way 6-3 tie for 2nd place which in my understanding is then decided by records vs teams who are tied (mini-round-robin).

ISU would be 2-0 vs said teams and the other two would be 1-1, 0-2 in this scenario. So we'd play Okie St (assuming they beat Tech) for all the marbles. Hey, it could happen.

If we come out of next week with a scenario still I’ll take it more seriously.

The three ways I see:

A. Iowa State wins out, Baylor loses out, Oklahoma State wins out. We play Oklahoma State.

B. Iowa State wins out, Baylor loses out, Oklahoma State loses to Texas Tech. We play the Bedlam winner.

C. Iowa State wins out, Kansas State wins out, Oklahoma State loses out. We play Oklahoma.

Okay. In crunching the remaining games for the teams ahead and tied of/with us: If OU loses out (ISU, @Okie St), Baylor splits (@KSU, TTech), KSU wins out (Baylor, @texas), and ISU wins out (@OU, TCU).

In the above scenario, we have a 4 way 6-3 tie for 2nd place which in my understanding is then decided by records vs teams who are tied (mini round robin).

Hey, it could happen. It's really not that far fetched. Beating OU in Norman will be tough, but wasn't OU exposed big time yesterday?

If I'm misunderstanding the tie-breaker rules, someone clue me in. But in reading the rules on the Big XII website, this is my understanding of things.

I'm keeping the faith even though yesterday was freaking brutal to watch.
In a four team tiebreaker head to head the wins and loses total out to equal. Meaning one of the other teams must be 2-1 if the othe two are 1-2.

Yep you're right. I screwed up my initial records of the tied teams. Baylor would also be 2-1 in a 4-way tie and have head-to-head vs ISU. So Baylor has to lose out. I edited my original post to reflect this.

Beat Oklahoma and hope Kansas State beats Baylor. That keeps us alive. Either of those things don’t happen, we’re out no matter what.

Root for Texas Tech to beat Oklahoma State. Assuming the Cowboys win anyway, in the final week we’ll need Texas Tech to beat Baylor, Oklahoma State to win Bedlam, and for ISU to beat TCU.

If Tech does upset Oklahoma State we will have a couple paths, both of which require beating TCU. One path is Texas Tech beating Baylor. Bedlam wouldn’t matter except to determine our CCG opponent. The other path would be for Kansas State to beat Texas and for Oklahoma to win Bedlam. The Tech-Baylor game wouldn’t matter.

Time to let go of the dream.
It’s ******* over. No
I want to beat Oklahoma. That’s where it starts. If that happens, I sure as hell would like to have a chance going into the final week. Kansas State is a slight favorite against Baylor. That would keep us in it and our path wouldn’t be totally crazy.

Are you sure it reverts back to individual head to head or would it move forward to point difference of the remaining 2 against the 3 schools they tied with?

That's a good question. I'm not sure and I'm now thoroughly confusing myself.

So it's possible for a 4-way tie (ISU, BU, KSU, OU) where ISU & Baylor are 2-1 and then head-to-head is immaterial. And it goes to point differential which is why Baylor kicked their late FG?

I need clarification from someone not hung-over from a wedding like me!

FFS, stop with this nonsense. Even if all 17 things happened and we got into the game at 6-3 who could actually be excited about that and think we deserve to be there after getting stomped by 2 really bad football teams?

Not happening and even if it does I don't care at this point. 8-4 is still a total bust.
