Why is this an issue? They did break the law didn't they? Or is it okay to break the law if you don't live there.

Exactly. To me it makes sense to target areas or days where there may be heavier traffic than normal. Try to stop people from speeding and making unsafe situations. Easy solution, don't speed. Or you could speed, get a ticket and then whine about it, that works too I suppose.

If you've never went over the speed limit on 235 than you've never driven on 235.

Also the number of accidents seems to go up exponentially during state tournament weeks. There are a lot of people driving on 235 that don't know exactly where they're going. Why compound that with some idiot crusing along at 75mph?

I was just on I 235- there were 7 cop cars on the Euclid on ramp and 10 others that already had someone pulled over between Euclid and Guthrie. It was an awesome sight. I'm glad I saw all the lights and slowed down coming down the hill.

Yep. I've been on I235 heading south into Des Moines on multiple Friday afternoons about 4 o'clock and they do the exact same thing.

I don't know if this is the reason or not but maybe it because of the police. Not only are these people trying to find the right exit they also have to deal with a line of squad cars on the side of the road pulling people over. It has been my experience that these out of towners drive slow because they don't know what they are doing. I doubt the rise in accidents during this time of the year has to do with speeding.

One thing that people fail to mention is that the accident rate actually has gone down in the last few years on the interstates even though the speeds have gone up.

They should turn around the cop cars and head north about a mile and bust all the meth heads on the east side.

I think more of this has to do with the # of 16 year olds driving on one-way streets downtown more than speed on the expressway.

I saw the lights ahead in time too, just lucky. I admit I speed too much and if I get caught I'll just take my medicine.
