Im 50/50 over Deace being on the show for various reasons....

My question is who would you like to see replace him?

Paul Clark came to mind 1st, but in all honesty I would really enjoy Chuck Reed more than anyone.

Chuck in my opinion is a pretty straight shooter, but still can spin some silver lining without going overboard. He can call a spade a spade, but I think he's an exceedingly fair assessor of ISUs situation throughout the season, while looking ahead to whats being built here.

I missed the episode/show but Deace was having a meltdown during the season and proclaimed next year would be more rebuilding and toiling and then lord have mercy: here comes OU/TU/TTU and the program will fail for 2 more years, and it will be 2012 before theres light at the end of the tunnel.....blah blah blah.

Anyways, I've had to answer to so many hawk fans over Steves doom and gloom comments. AND IM SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THE DAMN OU/TU/TTU SCHEDULE.

I'm sorry, but Chuck Reed is the master of spin, a mouthpiece of the athletic department. When has he ever said a word critical of a Cyclone coach, or performance. After every football loss this year, he just yucked it up on his call-in show, as if none of this should be taken so seriously...

The only time I've heard Chuck Reed be remotely honest is after the Kent State loss in 2007. He talk about how we didn't have many guys who would start for Nebraska and talent was a serious issue. Outside of that day, he's a cheerleader. Deace keeps it real. For some reason people are afraid of the truth.

+1

And if a caller was even remotely critical or negative, Chuck usually hangs up on them and says they don't know what they are talking about.

I also remember seeing him on channel 13 new this year making his weekly prediction against I believe Baylor. He predicted a win, which wasn't the problem, but then went on to say it would be the first of 3 straight wins. He did this while putting on sunglasses and saying the next 3 weeks look bright. The only thing that happened was him looking like a fool, especially later on when Murphy would replay that clip after we were getting rolled in those games. Embarrassing.

I hope keith murphy got the crap kicked out of him a lot when he was a kid.

I was dissapointed after the kansas loss, but at that time felt the team was still pointed in the right direction. I would have not however made any predictions on a 3 game win streak at that point.

I've never listened to Deace on the radio, but I have no idea why people have a problem with him on State of the Nations. He knows a lot about college sports -- especially football.

Deace loves money and attention. Oh, Michigan too. He put Michigan before ISU and the site he used to run before it was taken away.

Attempting to screw over Jeremy and treating his employees poorly are just more reasons I can't stand the guy.

Sports knowledge? Sure. But not everyone with knowledge is the best for that specific job.

For the purpose of that show, why should it matter if he loves money or is a Michigan fan? He obviously follows and knows a lot about Iowa State. He brings a lot to the show with his sports knowledge.

I know 10x's more about college sports than he does - plus i am not an *** hole (ok some people may disagree). I am loyal to ISU and don't care about making money off them like some fat ****s.

maybe they should let me on the show.

Count me as one of the people who likes Keith Murphy, too. I guess I'm not as hard to please as some.

10 times as much? That would be impressive. Send in a resume.

I just can't sit there and listen/watch a guy when I know about him. Generally I can ignore that stuff.

With Steve, it's just too much.

Plus, I'm not sure how much he brings to the show. Lets someone that actually gives a **** about ISU do it. I firmly believe he hats Iowa more than he actually likes ISU.
