Was just curious what people were thinking for next season. As I was replying to another thread it had me wondering what do I really expect next year.

biggest questions:
Brock Purdy and the QB situation. I am all aboard the Purdy express on this one. I think we finally have the guy at QB. It seems like a long time since I have been able to say that. We have had some guys that have given some great moments, but never have we seemed to have a guy that is this dynamic. This is the biggest question because I have always believe college football teams rely more on 1 guy than any other level or sport.

WR- Butler was huge for us last year. We will need a go to guy like him emerge next year. The good thing is there is a lot of talent in that room. The other thing is there was also a decent amount of drops last year for all the amazing ones there were too. To me that means even if someone comes in and just makes the routine ones that he missed, hopefully it should make up for some of the game changing plays he made that are not likely to be repeated by anyone.

DB- this is probably my biggest concern of all. BP and Payne were very reliable last year. This allowed the defense to focus in other areas. The lack of experience and reliability might make holes in other spots.

Biggest strength
The front DL/LB- I am really excited to see what this looks like next year. The DL group we have is very good and deep. On top of that I feel like our LB core is going to be top notch as well. Even though we don't know who the 3 LB is going to be at this point, I think we have plenty of talent to fill that spot. The other 2 positions we can go 2 deep without losing any real talent in my opinion. I put these groups together because in this defense they really play as 1 group in order to be successful. I know this is always true with defenses but when we are only putting 6 guys in the box a lot of the time, 1 mistake can mean 6 points really easy. The one thing I would like to see if any of the DE can become a real pass rusher threat. I know Bailey has a ton of sacks, but most tend to be more stunts and coverage type sacks.

Most interesting thing
RB- This is the most interesting thing to be because I really like kene as well as the 2 incoming freshman. I know this could be a top question for a lot of people, however, I am not worried about. Oklahoma State is my example. Montgomery didn't play and we still scored 48 points. Montgomery's biggest loss might actually be in pass protection. He was flat out great at picking up the blitz. Breece Hall is the guy from this class that I am just excited to see how they get him the ball. The fact is this coaching staffs best quality is coming up with ways to get guys in good situations. They know they don't have Montgomery and I think they will be fine coming up with new ideas.

My bold take is we will be in the big 12 championship game next year. It is probably just spring and I am too hungry for football, but I really think we are going to make it there. I really love the pieces that we have.
