Is the spring game on April 7th at Carver open to the public?

That is a great question. I think it is open with a five dollar fee for adults. Contact Hawkeye-Carver events:
Telephone Number
1-800 IA-HAWKS (1-800 424-2957)

Also, there was a news item last fall about Iowa tossing some bucks at a multi-use events building to house Volleyball. Something Iowa State may need in the future:

I know they are regular spring games and open to the public but they just don't come right out and say so which is confusing. You would think they would communicate more clearly. It's not like they don't want fans to come.

They did note the Mt. Vernon game is open to the public, maybe felt the need to note because it's not at either schools home venue.

A lot of off season surgeries but a deep team coming this fall. So excited about Lazard...and pretty much the rest of the squad.

CJL consistently has one of the most talented teams in the nation in her respected sport at Iowa State

Also, taking down the hawks in any sport always puts a smile on my face.

Lazard played quite a bit -Capezio seems to be the hot service - couldn't tell much from the blog. ISU won 3-1. Not a fall match, but considering the teams, it was probably a real effort and not seen as a scrimmage.

Wow, Cyclones sweep competition winning 10 sets today against 5 other teams!

The Iowa State volleyball team went unbeaten at the UNI Spring Play-Day in Cedar Falls Saturday, taking all 10 sets in its five matches played. The Cyclones picked up victories over UNI, Northern Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota and the Iowa Ice of the Professional Volleyball League.

Quite a day. I couldn't find any scores from the other matches. It's like a tree fell in the woods with nobody around. We won all our matches, but many were close. Given the roster, I was surprised we beat Iowa Ice. They have some good players.

I wonder what's going on at UNI? They lost another significant player over the spring or summer for the 3rd year in a row. Pudwill this time.

Ice only had about 7 or 8 of the players there, including three ISU kids. Kristen Hahn played, who is not listed on their roster.

Caught parts of the spring game in Hilton today. CJL does a nice job bringing in quality teams.

Iowa State was impressive in several ways. First, the chemistry among players appears to be terrific. It looked like they were having fun and playing hard. We have returning depth and talent. Different combinations were on the floor. It looks like individuals are already improving in the off-season.

Perhaps most impressive is that the fitness of almost every player has stepped up a notch since the end of last season. They must be doing some serious management of exercise, lifting and diet. Some players are trimmer. Some players are stronger. Kudos to the players for the discipline that takes and hopefully it will pay dividends in stamina and consistency in the fall.

We have the most depth at middle. It will be interesting to see who starts, I think it will be Conaway and lazard; she's very physical.

Good to hear the fitness observation. Right or wrong, it has been a topic discussed some regarding past teams (not so much last year as the year before that). Looking forward to seeing them play next season.

Anyone going to the Illinois game Mount Vernon tomorrow - its free. I doubt I need to remind the fans here that we faced the Illini last season in the NCAA. We look pretty strong and it should be an excellent way to end the spring season. Last weekend recap: http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&ATCLID=210031961

With a top class coming next fall too, Volleyball is going to be the team to watch next season.
