Huge issue. But how in the world do you fix it?Medical FF in consi semis at 133, 141, 149, 157, 174, 197. That means no 5th place match in at least 6/10 weights, assuming the rest wrestle.. MFF.. still a major problem with our sport.

I don’t know but they could have them do a quick evaluation with the trainers to state their injury and have it documented. Then they have to get medically cleared by a doctor before they can compete or practice again from said injury. Making some process to compete again might limit it someHuge issue. That was going to be my example too. We were in Lincoln & a lot of people were pissed.MFFs really only become an issue when guys use it after reaching a point in their conference tournaments where they know they'll advance to NCAA.
You know, like in the Big Ten finals last year.
I'm old school and hard core, but I like this. A no show has to have some consequences.I think one way to stop some of the MFFs is to actually count them as a loss and have them go against potential ranking in the NCAA tournament.
I like this idea on the surface. Would be interesting to see what angle a coach would take on this. Would it discourage competing at tournaments? Can't really apply it to duals, but I'm not sure if that matters.I think one way to stop some of the MFFs is to actually count them as a loss and have them go against potential ranking in the NCAA tournament.
I hate this, but it is probably true. I have not been to many NCAA championships, but I get great seats for the placement matches because there are so many empty seats.I’m not really sure the MFF are that big of an issue. Has anyone been to a wrestling tournament before? No one sticks around to watch consis. Even at NCAA there are hardly any fans on Saturday morning, and those matches are better than almost all of the finals of these holiday tournaments.
Decent finish for Ramazan. Carter is a top 20-25 guy in every ranking.Attasauov wins, 5-3.
Good news is all of them will have a good chance to pick up quality wins next Sunday.Three non-starters placing at this tournament shows some depth. And our starters will still be ranked even if we hoped they had done better.
I know it's not apples-to-apples as teams brought varying strengths of lineups, but 8 of the 10 Scuffle champs were from the Big 12:
Oklahoma State: Fix (133), Plott (174), Wittlake (184)
NDSU: March (149), Franek (157), Pentz (197)
Missouri: Elam (HWT)
Northern Colorado: Alirez (141)
Alirez was MOW.
