From the mgoblog regarding the KF/Les Miles saga. This was posted Wed, Nov 28 at 10:58 am:

There is significant buzz that Miles is a done deal as soon as LSU gets done with the SEC championship game from both the premium boards on the paysites and my inbox, but he was supposed to be a done deal a while ago. We'll see; he has support from a lot of important people but obviously not the most important one who's not Bill Martin: Lloyd Carr. The Ferentz thing is a solid indicator of that. (And, yes, there was most definitely a Ferentz thing getting pushed very hard by Carr and others -- this is "Ferentz is no longer a candidate," not "was never.")

Sounds like KF was Carr's guy, but Michigan chose not to pursue it or KF wasn't interested enough.

heard the same thing on rivals radio this morning. they were trying to get together on some things, and whether a deal was made or not is unknown now, and will likely never be told. they also said that kf was indeed at the patriots facility, and tom brady straight out asked him if he was going to michigan or not. kf told him no, and this squashed the idea.

Michigan has asked LSU to speak to miles. That means he will be getting the job. They only interviewed one guy for the basketball job as well

The only problem i have with this mgoblue site is they also told everyone that KF was a done deal...so they don't know jack...

I cannot believe that Iowa fans are throwing out there that he would rather be at Iowa....we'll see about that....for those fans, they should remember that he's returning to an ugly 6-6 team that will not be bowling....therefore, they're holding practices and yada yada yada while Chiz is out there getting us some talent....

I think KF was seriously interested in Michigan, anyone that knows anything about college football knows that its one of the top 5-6 programs in all of college sports not just football.....I would say that Iowa wrestling has that same level of prestige.....not the football or basketball!!!!

Sorry S-Hawk...

But, KF's name in there may have driven miles to make a decision and definatly reduced Miles ability to put big time demands on the university. And that might still happen, looking at it, hmmmm if i were miles and i had an awesome job at an awesome school but one of the elite jobs came callin, why not listen, respond with certain demands, and if those demands are not met, then say no thanks and head back to where your already considered a god!!! If that happens the KF crap will kick into high gear again....

IMO i think Michigan would have a hard time selling everyone on the hiring of KF with 10% of his current team either awaiting trial, in jail, on probation or doing community service. I mean if it had been the 10-1 years and his program was without violence towards women and cops, then maybe, but right now, thats a tough sell that the media would be all over should he be hired.....KF is in the right place, getting paid a top 3 salary, but, you can get away with backtoback 6 win seasons.....PRICELESS!!!!!!

Except that, according to some fans, Miles will probably be in a little bit of hot water if they don't win the SEC title this year. Many LSU fans are already po'ed that they are out of the NC picture, and blowing the SEC title with all that talent would probably cause many of them to break out the torches and pitchforks. You're only a god in SEC country when you're winning conference and national titles.

Great arguments, except the fact that Miles isn't viewed as a "god" in Baton Rouge - in fact the lunatics are ready to drive him out in spite of his, what is it - 37-5 record there over 3 years? They view him as someone that can't bring the glass football home like Saban did and are ready to bring someone in who can. If he tries to use his "god" status at LSU as a leveraging tool for the Michigan job it very well could blow up in his face.

I really think that KF would rather be at Iowa. Why would you want the expectations that go along with Michigan for pretty much the same $$? I know that Iowa fans have expectations along the same lines as Michigan's (although unrealistic) but the difference is that Iowa's administration isn't going to follow through by firing KF like Michigan's would if he failed there.

I'm sure he was there because they are going to fire Belichick and hire him as the new head coach of the Pats...HAH!
