Well the gold medal winner this year was 19 and about to turn 20. That Liukin girl. So Shawn is 16 so she will be about the same age when London rolls around. I would not put it past her to make the team and take gold. The girl is money.

Wasn't that Sacaramore (sp?) from the USA also in her early 20's? I realize she didn't do well in the finals, but she was still part of the team.

Nastia Liukin is 18, turning 19 in October.

Alicia Sacramone is 21, turning 22 in December.

Odds Shawn Johnson ever wears an olympic all round gymnastics gold medal = not good at all. Corporate America is uniformly crying across the board. They obviously wanted Shawn to win, I mean the media can't even mention Liukin without saying Shawn Johnson in the next breath. If Shawn had the gold and Liukin the silver we wouldn't even hear Nastia's name.

Oh, sorry man. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Of course little Shawn will win the all round gold medal someday. Have some more :skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical: and maybe one more :skeptical:. Aren't they cute. Visa would have LOVED to have shawn as their little salesgirl and I think most people know this.

It may sound like it's ignorant and stereotypical, but it's not. Maybe "genetic" is the wrong choice of word - age factor is probably a better choice of words. Most young ladies are out of the sport - at least at that high of a level, by the time they are 20 years old. I can only think of one case where an American girl competed when she was older than 20, and that was Dominique Dawes - she was 22. 30+ year old Russian lady who vaulted for Germany is a freak of nature. Simple fact of the matter - age is going to be against Shawn Johnson if she goes for London, and as far as Nastia Liuken she probably wants to consider moving on with her life.

Can't disagree with that.
