I don't know what it's like being famous, but I'd probably get sick of random people taking pictures or trying to talk to me like they're my friends. If she comes off as uppity that might have something to do with it.

Also I'm sure when she's able to relax in the company of friends, she's like any other teenager. I know me and my friends were pretty much bastards in high school even though we had good reputations. /shrug

That sounds like me. Everyone thought I was nice guy, until I was the first person in my class to go to jail... before graduation. I did a lot of stupid things, but it's all part of growing up.

I'm sure SJ is just a normal teenager. Innocent, but not really.

I've heard people say that she's pretty arrogant and full of herself, but it was a dentist's-sister's-boyfriend's-dog groomer type thing. I think someone in that chain was a female gymanst, so there was probably a tinge of jealousy to boot. Not too credible, imo, but at the same time wouldn't surprise me either.

I used to work with someone years ago who had a sibling who was a gymnast. FWIW, they said worse things about Mary Lou Retton. I'm sure a large part of it is a combination of confidence and envy.
