That does seem like the most fair way to do it. What I don't like about college is that the punting & kick off game are taken out of the picture. Obviously in the NFL, the team that gets the ball first wins something like 70 - 75% of the time, which isn't fair at all.

This seems like a good balance and the most fair option.

The other problem with the OT is that the team to go last has 4 plays to make a first down, not 3, if a TD is needed. The first team to play almost always has to kick a FG if they don't make a first down on 3 plays or risk losing on a FG.

I have no idea why I continue to watch sports when games are so frequently taken out of the players hands. That game was giftwrapped for the Broncos. Either somebody is really bad at their job or the fix was in. Since it happened twice in one game with the same official, I'm not sure which I believe.

Except that the Chargers could have stopped the 2 pt. conversion and still won....just sayin'.

I didn't see the play, was it really that bad? I don't think the NFL or college games are fixed, I do think that things get slanted at times though. Certain teams seem to always get the calls. I cannot remember a call in my lifetime where ISU really got a break, I mean a gamechanger where the Ref's absolutely screwed the other team, like has happened to us countless times over the years.

As for going for two: The Vikes did it in New Orleans several years ago, when Tice was coach, Culpepper did a fumble, stumble draw up the middle.

That lacked any evidence of logic or thought. Thanks though.

I guess I could have stopped the dude that broke into my garage all those years ago as well if I just stayed home 24 hours a day. The point is I shouldn't have to and the Chargers shouldn't have had to stop the touchdown or two point conversion.

At this point I really don't care. It was a travesty of a game but I still woke up, took my kids to daycare, and came to work.

Yes, but you had to do it knowing the Chargers were 2 games behind the Broncos!
