I need to get some newer clubs, and don't really know where to look. Ideally, I would like to spend under $150 (I'm not needing top of the line clubs and don't expect it at this price). What is a good site/store to look at? Thanks in advance

I'd check craigslist, that's where I picked up a set a few weeks ago.

Obviously there are some wackos on there, but golf clubs tend to be sold by a higher class seller. (GENERALLY speaking)

I would also go this rout. It also never hurts to talk to any super avid golf friends you may have as they might know of somthing retireing some clubs to the next latest and greatest thing.

A quality set of clubs will last you 10 years easy.

For a whole set that is rough. Try 2ndswinggolf.com. Some people still play Ping eye2's and love them even though they are older. Might try some garage sales as well.

Speaking of garage sales, I love those freakin things!

Even if I come home with crap I don't at all need, it's still worth the $10.50 I spent for my carload of junk!

yeah, i wouldn't buy off ebay. 95% of all golf equipment is fake.

rockbottomgolf.com always has some great deals. Not sure the quality you are going for, but they've got some Adam's Golf and Nicklaus Golf iron sets for fairly cheap.

I recently did this. I was just buying irons because my putter and woods work well for me (might update to a new driver soon).

I'm guessing you will do fine with some of the websites listed but I felt more comfortable going to a brick and mortar. Golf Galaxy in West Des Moines is where I went. You can swing them in the simulator so you know what you're getting.

Again, kind of like getting a used car from a dealership, probably a little more expensive but I liked being able to swing them before I bought them.

Golf Headquarters in Des Moines is a great place to go. They have good trade-ins that they sell relatively cheap for what you get. They'll let you hit them inside and try them out to see if you like them. Also, since they are tradeins you can work on them and barter on the price. I got a barely used set of Tayormade R7 irons last summer there that had just been traded in. Had them marked at $230, I talked them down to $175.

Definitely the first place I go to for golf gear.

I have a set of Jack Nicklaus irons 5-sw that are great shape that id sell for $100. I clean my clubs after every round so they are well taken care of and have no nicks or dents. The irons are great but I just upgraded so no need for em.

This is a myth spread by people that sell new golf clubs. Of course there are fakes on ebay. If you have half a brain they are easy to spot ($100 for this year's model of TM driver for example). I like to look for golf courses that are selling rentals.
