I don't know about you, but I always get more hyped for the women's selection day than the men's. I think it is because the men's comes the day after the big 12 tourney, and I am still cooling down from that, and I kind of find out the results after the fact. This gets me primed for the women's day which comes on Monday. I wish them all the best, and believe they will do well. Best wishes!

Will we make the tourney? I honestly don't know anything about our team.

I get the feeling because of what I just saw in the Emily Durr video that there will be more parity next year.

Bracketology has us as a 7 seed. I don't think we will get that high, but I have to admit, I don't know enough to fit into a thimble about bracketology. I am just glad we are in, as bad as we have played at times this year. I am becoming convinced that we will be better next year, even without Hallie. I think Fennelly just came up with a Hoiberg type recruit, and has been generally moving in that direction. This team has some wonderful players, and we should support them with all we can.

 This doesn't mean that I don't get into the men's tourney and the games. I go overboard with ISU men. I just have equal affection for the women's team which started back in the McDermott era when the men's team hurt my soul to watch. I started watching the women, for balm for my hurting soul, and have been watching them ever since. There is much to care about on the women's side. Get started, and you will never regret it.

Its going to be UConn and Notre Dame in the final. Basically go chalk the rest of the way.

Yeah, that might sum up the tourney especially UCONN. But that is why they play the games. Toss deserving superlatives upon Gino, but he been as corrosive on the spirit of NCAA BB as much he has brought interest. Stanford has not won in a long time but UCONN is there half the time over the last ten years.

I won't be surprised to see ISU anywhere from a 7 to a 10. I would tend towards the lower number. They've stayed ranked in the coaches polls (I'm not sure why) throughout. The kiss of death would be an 8/9 seed a a number 1 would be a second round matchup. As a viewer I'd love to see one of the number 1's play at Hilton. But that is about it. 7/10 is only a slightly less toxic kiss as a #2 would be in your house. But, if we have to play the high seed at some point why not at Hilton?

There is a chance we could host a #1. Notre Dame is the only projected 1 seed that is not hosting first round games. ESPN has them going to Baton Rouge where LSU is slotted in the 8/9 game. I'd like to see the 7 seed come up for us, but I think that's too high, based on where our RPI has dropped to in the final ratings. While it would be interesting to host a top seed, that type of thing should be reserved for a much more deserving program like Iowa. =P

I think our seed has more to do with everyone else, and less to do with us. All the rules about when same conference teams can meet, and the committee will be very focused on top seed issues.

I wish there was more parity in women's basketball...

There will never be the kind of parity you see in the men's game until they cut the number of scholarships per team in the women's game, and they won't do that because it hurts "opportunities."

Totally agree !!! The women's game is more "parody" than parity ... once the conference tournaments have concluded, if you don't reside in Waco or Stores, who cares about the women's NCAA event? It's like watching "Hoosiers" over and over... the same team wins every time.

Going way out on a limb and predicting we get selected to play in Ames! :wideeyed:

With the whole where and when a done deal there is pretty much no drama left although I am curious about the 1st round matchup.
