Sedrick Johnson gone

Let's not drag anyone through the mud if we don't have to. The kid has moved on, maybe we should too.

Best of luck to Sed in the future.

Wish he would have stuck around, but sometimes a change is good for people. I'm very curious to see where he ends up. Best wishes to the young man on achieving his goals somewhere else.
North Texas State?

Was that the 190lb (soaking wet) linebacker that got destroyed on kick coverage everytime?

Yes.

I'm thinking we will have quite a few players who don't look to get any significant playing time at ISU over their careers transfer to lower levels this season.

im not giving any grief to Sedrick Johnson at all

He was just a guy that thankfully choose the Cyclones and for whatever reason it didn't work out here. I appreciate that he was a Clone. I was just tweaking the hysterical star gazers is all.

Anyone remember JJ Bass? Im pretty sure he was a 4 star from JUCO

JJ Bass also ran for over 100 yards in multiple games and was actualy productive when healthy. Sed may have been injured, but was never productive when healthy.

JJ was a fine back. 4 Star? Maybe not. Then again. The star system seems even more flawed with JUCOs.

JJ Bass had some ability. I could see him being a 1000 yard rusher in the right situation.

I remember in Chizik's opening game against Kent State everyone anticipated him being the starter. Instead, some guy named Alexander Robinson started.

JJ had a really good game that night, though. Despite the embarrassing loss.

I always liked Sed Johnson. Seems like a quality guy. It didn't work out here, it happens. I'm also surprised there wasn't a press release or anything. He was a prominent player.

SJ had two things going against him at ISU.

When he first came in, we were just loosing Todd Blythe so everyone was looking for the next heir apparent. With his size, speed and recruiting hype, SJ seemed to be the logical choice. Everyone expected Blythe-like numbers and it just never happened.

The coaching change also hurt SJ. He would have done much better in McFarland's system IMO. He was never good at making a move in space so he just couldn't contribute much to Herman's spread.

I hope Stephen F. runs a more suitable offense and SJ catches 50 passes next year. Always seemed like a good guy. All the best SJ.

Thomas Patton, Walter Nickel and Trent Flander were all 4 stars in the 2005 class. Meanwhile Reggie Stephens and Alvin bowen were 2 and 3 stars respectively. Just goes to show stars don't mean all that much.

Best of luck to Sed. I will always remember how excited I was when he actually signed with us. I hope he has a great year next year and fans of SFA get that excited about his play down there.

Cheers

I'll throw in a third item....maybe he should learn from Adam Robinson.

Our receiving group over the last 4-5 years has been one of the most over-hyped and under-performing positions on the field.

It started in the final couple seasons with Blythe and then just got much worse when he graduated. This needs to get corrected or we will be a near-bottom Big 12 team every year.
