That would not go over well at ISU. I can tell you I’m already at my limit with what I spend on tickets. I would downgrade or opt to go to less games with tickets on the secondary market

******* tipping for talent at college sports. Gross.
Lol, pass the hat (square card reader) in between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters. Or maybe pass the bag and people can put in their hats, watches, any other valuables to GET MORE MONEY. THEY NEED MORE MONEY! MORE MONEY PEOPLE, GIVE THEM MORE MONEY!

here we go, the only party who is affected... the fans. Keep pushing them, there is no breaking point!

Feels like we’ve been saying “the breaking point is coming!” wrt fans. Is demand for college football that inelastic?

But at some point it’s going to take the fans saying “enough” for the madness to stop. Start sharing the media revenue and stop fleecing Joe Fan.

Programs that completely sell out their stadium via season tickets (like Tennessee has last year and this year) can get away with this because it's the only way to get in.

For programs that don't sell out via season tickets (like us), we can't because a bunch of people will opt to get single game tickets to the 2 or 3 enticing games on the schedule rather than opt-in for every home game to save some dough. Where that's an option, the ADs will have to be careful about how much they gouge the fans.

Massive SEC TV contract and the fans are still on the hook to pay more lol

Kinda bonkers that they're just flat rejecting the idea of cutting back some of the clearly frivolous spending pervasive throughout college sports. We're about to find out if there are limits to the insane price increases college sports fans will absorb. Maybe the bubble will finally - if not burst, start to spring a leak.

They're still in financial competition with the other SEC/B1G schools. The ones who can pass the buck to the fans will. Those who can't, will probably still try until it backfires. Anyone who expected pay-for-play not to be passed along is naive.

Wonder what the average cost is for that 14.5% increase
$7,500,000 projected in "talent fee" money spread across 102,000 seats is $73.53, but that's only accounting for the 10%. For the whole 14.5% that means the average increase is $106.62 per seat.

Oh it isn't surprising at all. 10% seems like a large increase too. Will be interesting to see what happens

Yeah wonder how much the premier and luxury seats will set that off by. $106 for the season isn’t too bad for a school like Tenn that probably has a waitlist for tickets, still not cool though

Certain programs with fanbases can do this without much backlash.

Peeked at a vol message board and everyone is pretty much on board. In their words “if we want a Ferrari on the field, we can’t have a fiat budget”
