They're 0-12 in conference. I always love legacy players, but I haven't seen that kind of thing out of him with the consistency needed on a top ten team.Did we not recruit him at all? His game seems like a perfect fit for us. Looks like one of the best players on the court vs Kansas tonight.

Not disagreeing with you, but he currently has 17 and 7 against Dickinson in AFH which is significantly better than we were able to muster with our bigs.
He had 19 points and 9 rebounds against Kansas. His game reminds me of his dad and Momcilovic. We weren’t really in the market for that kind of player. No need to go after someone like that as things stand. Even if he was recruited and signed, he would be absolutely buried on the bench.

Nojus is a pure 2, Rancik is a stretch 4. Comp is Milan but looks like a way better rebounder. If Rancik ever went into the portal I’d hope we’d give him a good look. He’s also went 0fer against Kansas in 12 minutes their first go around against KU. I obviously have no clue how he will turn out, but I’d wager to guess him and Nojus have similar play styles (wing who can shoot) and Nojus was a much better HS prospect. There is no doubt he would be sitting on the bench getting 0 playing time if he were here.
Legacies are fun and all, but not at the expense of a better team.

He is getting better. He started this season on the bench but made into the starting lineup few games ago.You are basing that comp off of one good game? Good grief. He’s averaging 5 points and 2 rebounds a game on a terrible team. Milan started played 30mpg and and averaged 10 and 5 on a Sweet 16 team as a freshman. They might have a similar style, but he’s must be the poor, poor man’s Milan if he is the comp there.

I agree with you there, but only for the reason that he wouldn’t play much because we mostly recruit over our HS players with better transfers. Honestly, no underclassman not named Milan, Tamin or Tyrese has sniffed any significant playing time in the TJ era. Do you see Nojus playing much next year? Not without a big offseason and some poor transfer recruiting at the SG position. He can’t defend and hasn’t been the shooter that was advertised, albeit in a small sample size.I get that, but Colorado isn’t on the same level as ISU. They may be in the same conference, but I don’t know if there is one player on that team that would get playing time for Iowa State this year. Maybe Hammond would. That’s it.
So I would hope if Rancik is any good at all he could break through there, but IMO he’s still 2 years away from being someone who could make an impact for Iowa State.

Probably depends on whether Heise is back or not. But even if he is, there should be more minutes for Nojus with Gilbert and Jones departing. That almost 70 minutes a game opening up.I agree with you there, but only for the reason that he wouldn’t play much because we mostly recruit over our HS players with better transfers.
