I'm selling two seats out of my 4, $400 a piece but you get to sit by me for the entire game which pretty much makes up the difference in price.

Wait a gosh darn minute here. Earlier in the week, you said a lucky person could sit on your lap? What's this ******** of sitting right next to you about?

And?

If I were local and didn't have season tickets, I'd be willing to drop $100/ticket for this game. Not really out of line considering the 4 @$100/ticket were lower level on the 50 yard line (one of those two sellers also included a parking pass).

I once paid $70 for a STUDENT ticket (to Iowa) and that seemed about right. It was a last minute decision to go and $70 was the cheapest one I could find on a weeks notice.

Those lower level tickets are EASILY worth $100 each.

When the ticket itself says 70$ on it, how is 100$ not a rip??

Because you have it and they don't? it's like asking why a big box of cereal is cheaper than 20 little boxes. Bulk. You get a break on tickets by buying the whole season at once. A $30 increase hardly seems unreasonable.

If you buy season tickets and the team sucks, you have to sell below face value. It's like stocks or any other investment. I really don't see the drama.

iowa state vs. iowa was over $200 per ticket on the 3rd party market. I have no problem with people selling them for more here or on stubhub. Those that have to resell are making a big financial contribution each year to the AD to get season tickets, if it means selling them for more than face value so they can continue to buy season tickets in future years and the market supports it, then go ahead and sell them for more than face value.

$70 is strictly the ticket. If someone has seats in a $2,500 donor section with 4 @ $375 season tickets, they have $4,000 tied up in those seats or $142.86/ticket. Factor in parking and you're at $145/seat.

Lowest price on stubhub (not hillside) is $63.99 (south endzone field level). Lower level side lowest is $86.90 (furthest north section).

=======
There's also 4 hillsides asking for ~$1000 each :biglaugh:

Season tickets aren't really a good deal in terms of price, all they really do is guarantee the seat for the game. For example, I think if we add up the face value of all the ticket prices it's like $390 PLUS the Cyclones Club donation. last year I sold a bunch of tickets at face value and realized after-the-fact that I just lost that entire donation.

Its obvious that my cheapness has gotten the best of me and that my analysis of the situation was off base. Maybe its the fact that I make 30k a year and can't afford a 100$ ticket. No doubt it bothered me, but the masses have clearly indicated that I was incorrect in my thinking. I appreciate the discussion and GO CLONES!!

This may help determine "face value" and then a mark up from there is not to be unexpected.

I give the OP credit, you at least looked at what others were saying.Too many times, a poster makes a claim and then continues on without ever looking at the other side of things. Last year my daughter and I went to a bball game at KU. We purchased seats 4 rows from the court. We paid a pretty price for the tickets. I did not begrudge the person we bought the tickets from. We had a GREAT time together, and created memories together. The only negative was the outcome of the game. Bottom line is we wanted to go to the game, we could afford to go, so we did.
We all get to decide what we are willing to pay for our entertainment. Some things I can not afford, other things I prioritize and make work.

This is why you read a whole thread before spouting off. My bad. I'm glad the OP could understand the other side.

Yeah, I'm glad you could recognize our end. In my situation, at my donor and ticket level, it costs me double face value/ticket. That has to be factored in and I'm guessing I will pay a significant amount more for my tickets next year, especially if we win 8 or so games this year.

I see nothing wrong with face value or even a few dollars more for the donation that the season ticket holder had to pay. Its just my opinion, hate to see Clones not be able to see a game due to another Clone taking advantage of our current success and winning.

any clone fan can pony up the $ to the school to buy tickets. after that it is called supply and demand

I am one that sells tickets on here. This is my 43 year for season tickets. I have set in the upper level since the stadium has been open same seats. The last coulpe of years I have asked if any goods seats have open up down below. This year' 4 seats open up and I purchased them and kept my old seats also. To do this my donation went to $5000.00. When i'm asking $100.00 per ticket i'm still loosing money.
