I'll take any top ranking press we can get! Also, you'd be wrong if you didn't think early impressions influence the seedings in the NCAA tournament.

It won't. Their sos is too good. Would be cool though. Not relevant in the real world, but still cool.

Nobody uses RPI in December or even January in media. The press comes from polls which is fine.

The RPI is an awesome evaluation of schedule but it needs lots of data so it takes until late February to have value.

The RPI is archaic which fits the selection committee.

RPI makes a ton more sense for resume evaluation than the most popular computer ranking fans like to reference, that one gives virtually no weight to actually winning.

RPI has shaped up a lot in just the last ten days, of course it's crazy when few games have been played.

RPI is starting to matter with conference games starting in a couple of weeks. The Big 12 has done some work so far, so teams will be locked into a decent range.

I show us ahead by that exact margin. .003

It will keep changing tonight with the conclusion of every game involving some who has played ISU or UNC, or someone who has played someone who played ISU or UNC.

If your head didn't explode, the short version is, wait until all the games tonight are done to get a read on it.

I had no idea our SOS rank was so high, or I guess it would be low.

It's not. It's too early to get a read on the SOS, but the teams we beat have winning records for the most part. Those have skewed things a bit. Outside of Colorado and perhaps Iowa, the other teams will tend to drift down the RPI. Cincy and Texas A&M should help some.

I won't scoff at a high RPI at any point, even when it's too early to mean much. But it could drop even if ISU crushes Pine Bluff tomorrow. In fact, I expect it to happen. That's a resume drag-down game -- although it would only truly 'hurt' if it were a loss. Knock on wood. Not that it should require wood-knocking.

I had to work today, so didn't realize UNC lost. Was Paige injured again because the media pretty much told us they were unbeatable with him.

He may have gotten injured in the last second of the game. He was bulldozed which allowed Texas the last rebound.

I'm sure he wasn't hurt but he got nailed.

We would be a 35-40 point favorite for tomorrow if there was a line. Losing would be devastating.
