This whole post is problematic, but regarding the bolded part: WUUUUUUUUUT? I've been as disappointed as anyone since Royce has left ISU, but the one thing he has done for basically his whole life since childhood is to try to treat his disease.
Opps my bad when I asked for sources I should have clarified creditable sources not rumors and hearsay.http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2...ls-no-condoms-4-kids-3-baby-mamas-***-eating/

Since you asked
Part of trying to treat the disease would mean he's willing to take anti-anxiety medication or something that allowed him to fly. He refused from the get go to even try and just said hell no I won't fly. NBA teams have every resource available to help someone in his situation and he was more focused on shedding light than getting help. If its a matter of losing love of the game to pursue being an ambassador of mental health awareness than I'm all for it. IMO it would be hard to take advice from someone not willing to help themselves.
I don't think we know the whole story. I got the feeling that all he wanted was an understanding that the team would work with him and others who had similar problems. The thing I don't understand is why you would draft him that high if you weren't willing to work with him. Don't tell me he wanted more after the draft because I don't buy that. A team should know exactly what they are getting into with all of the scouting and stuff they do. I hope someone is willing to pick him up because I think he can be really good. He won't be a star but he can be a role playing starter or sixth man for a long time.
Maybe not playing Pro Basketball is the best thing for his mental health, you ever think of that.
I don't understand why so many on here are so ****** that he didn't pan out in the NBA, it's his life let him do it how he wants. He obviously doesn't need basketball and I for one think it's great that he has other things he would rather accomplish besides basketball.
In absolutely no way can you say that the Rockets were willing to work with him. The fact that it took them so long to sign his contract to include the protections shows that. I am not willing to believe anything they say as half of what they said during this made no sense. I don't remember when they finally accepted his terms which I think were reasonable, but by that point they didn't want him on the Rockets but the D league team. Yes maybe Royce could have worked with them more but I don't think his demands were unreasonable. If a college can accommodate him a NBA team should have no problems with all of their resources. Maybe I'm wrong but if Fred could do it then they could do it.Which team wasn't willing to work with him? From what I have read and heard both Philly and Houston were willing to do everything possible. It was Royce the was unwilling to travel by team ground transportation.

My problem personally isn't that he didn't pan out in the NBA. It's that he pretends to be some sort of messiah for mental health, but then has absolutely no grasp upon his own situation. It's really damaging for people to see a guy who's all Rah Rah mental health awareness, but then in his own life looks like a box of crazy.Maybe not playing Pro Basketball is the best thing for his mental health, you ever think of that.

I think it's more of he isn't going to take the BS that the teams want to say they are going to help them out but they really don't care. I mean look at your job (maybe it isn't the case in this example but look to other things or other people) don't you wish you could say some things to your boss or coworkers. Maybe he actually has the balls to do it and I applaud him for it. That being said I wish he would give a little on it but I will never believe that the NBA teams are really concerned about this more then their money grab.My problem personally isn't that he didn't pan out in the NBA. I think that they were unwilling to take the risk that comes with someone like Royce. I think that putting some money into him at first would help to mold him into something that would help them win. I mean if the Rockets didn't think he could help them then why did they draft him. It's simple they were unwilling to put a down payment on a player that within a couple years wouldn't need much if any special assistance that could be a matchup nightmare. When it comes to the 76ers like Royce said he probably deserved a spot but didn't fit in their plan. That is understandable. I don't fault them for that, but I hope he finds somewhere to fit in.Do you think the NBA teams are making their decisions about money or wins and losses? I'm just curious because from my observations, I think the Rockets and 76ers would have spent the money if they thought it would help them win. I think it was more that Royce (at least in his current state of health) couldn't help them win enough to justify the risk.

He stays one more year and ISU has a legit shot at a national title. Legit shot. Bummer...I love Royce but man, what could have been.
