Someone is going to have to give me some reasons why this doesn't make perfect sense for the Bulls to pursue. They can't score, and they need someone besides Rose who can create shots for himself. McGrady has a huge expiring contract, so they'd still be in position to make a big signing this summer, and he should be motivated himself to try to make himself some money this offseason.

McGrady would excite Bulls fans, and could potentially help them be more competitive and make Chicago appear to be a more attractive destination for free agents or a new coach.

Houston Rockets give Tracy McGrady indefinite leave, will look to trade disgruntled guard - ESPN

Look at all the games he has missed the last few years. He is really damaged goods. The only reason to pick him up would be to get his 23 million cap next year to sign free agents.

His contract expires at the end of the season. If it fails, who cares? Is it going to ruin the championship run the Bulls would have otherwise made?

In 2007-2008, McGrady averaged over 20 points per game, played 66 games, and shot 42% from the field. Not a great percentage, but certainly dwarfs what Salmons is doing this year.

This wouldn't excite this Bulls fan. This is just the thing this joke of a front office would do though.
