Excellent article. Brings up the question again, who leads the team during Big 12 play in rebounds, McKay, or Hogue?

McKay seems like a nice guy. At Cap City League this summer, he was always smiling and having a good time. I got assurance from the coaches last night that McKay plays just as mean as Hogue. Can't wait to see them on the floor together. The combination of up tempo offense, tough defense, and relentless rebounding should lead to some massive blowouts this season.

So at the end of the article - if I read it right... McKay is out-rebounding Hogue in practice? That's good news (IMO), and consistent with stats and reports from Indian Hills that McKay is a junkyard dog. If this proves out, this might be a year (finally) when we don't have to always commit 3-4 guys to the defensive boards to keep things even. Which should in turn allow for a quicker break, better transition game.

Ya, that's awesome. It doesn't surprise me that McKay is neck and neck with Hogue on the glass. He's basically a 3" taller version of Hogue. Long, lean, muscular, jump out of the gym, very active, tenacious.

By listening to interviews, you can tell the following:

-This team learned a lot from DeAndre and Ejim
-They understand chemistry is the key for them
-They realize that great offensive production is a given, but now they can start to improve defensively and on the glass with added depth and length
-They understand that nothing is going to be handed to them. Every practice is going to be a battle.

These are all really good signs, IMO.

These are the best signs, and also great signs that we have the best coach in the nation.
