I think its worth a lot more than a "little" more money....if Bowlsby really has irrefutable evidence. Its worth a holy **** ton more money....maybe 10 times as much as a remedy for tortious interference. A judge would want to inflict real damage if this were to pan out as true, not a symbolic slap on the wrist. And discovery could get awfully ugly for ESPN as well...humiliations galore. The threat of such losses and exposure may result in some eye popping payouts to the remaining 8 schools in a settlement.

Negotiated a deal between the SEC and OU/UT for at least 6 months and no one knew anything about it until last Wednesday. Safe to say the ESPN does not have the remaining schools interests at heart.
So Rece Davis wil not love Iowa State anymore?
Oh wait!
:p

Yeah this changes everything. So Fox, the B1G, Pac12, etc are now well aware of exactly what ESPN is trying to do. This could be larger than we even know honestly. This could cause a monumental shift in how TV and conferences are aligned.
This is why I think this doesn't hurt us (or other B12 members) with the Big 10 or PAC 12. They will want to push back as well (through Fox) against ESPN.

I don't care why they did it, do you realize how important it has been to ISU that they did it? What conference do you think ISU would be in right now if ESPN hadn't thrown away all that money? Do you think Campbell would be coaching there? What would the stadium look like? Would Pollard still be at ISU?

So when you call ESPN the villains, I find it hilarious. They quite literally bought ISU time to where it's not laughable that another conference would want them. If that is what you call a villain, I need more villains in my life.

Again, espn was going to be shut out of big boy football, totally, with a ut move the the pac and fox. They didn’t do it for any other reason than to keep themselves in the game.

How far back does the collusion between OU/UT and ESPN go? Remember when the Big 12 approached ESPN about extending the GOR, and they said no? How badly did that damage the Big 12's image in the eyes of other potential media partners?

The big fish isn't necessarilly the AAC thing. The UT/OU/ESPN collusion (*if* it can be proven), culminating in UT/OU leaving the Big 12, potentially cost the remaining (8) Big 12 schools...let's say $40 million/year for the next 15-20 years (that seems to be the going length for a GOR). That's huge money.

It might be interesting to follow Disney's stock price over the next few days as this unfolds.

Dear ESPN,

We got your all your channels removed from all Mediacom cable services.

But don't worry, we have a soft landing all planned for you. We got you lined up for Colfax Cablevision, Slater Cable and Telephone, and Indianola Cable and Internet Incorporated.

4.8 billion plus the extra few hundred million for whatever damages. $700 million each school?

Sign me up!

I know that's impossible but I'm gonna dream about it tonight..

I love that Bowlsby is doing this, but I hope he's shrewd enough to be thinking alternative broadcast partners...Apple, Amazon, Youtube, somebody; otherwise, the 8 of us are in massive trouble because we won't see ESPN money ever again.

What I want is to see ISU games and some other key games for a typical streaming service charge without having to pay $50-60 a month for cable tv when 99% of it is mindless garbage or movies with 43 commercial breaks.

Wouldn't matter to me if it was part of some existing streaming service or a new thing I have to buy. I get nowhere near $600/year value from cable tv outside of sports. I'd probably pay $30 a year tops for non sports cable TV...even then I still might not watch it having to flip channels through the garbage.

Of course if it saves ISU football/basketball I'd accept us being on cable tv networks without consistent streaming options, but it's definitely not what I want as a consumer.

espn just lowballed us in May, if they had been working with OU/UT since last year, everything that happened in those meetings was a farce. Just a dog and pony show to destabilize the league.

Yeah...it's nearly unfathomable that ESPN and the leaders at two prominent universities could be that stupid...yet it's kind of looking that way???
