Not exactly sure.
ISU to the Big 1G is never happening. ISU can't add more than they'd take away from the pot.

The only realistic scenario for ISU is the Big 12 continues in its current form. OU and TX leaving would relinquish power 5 status. The TV contract would fall through the floor. The tickets and donations would fall through the floor. ISU would be absolutely devastated.
You would quit donating and buying season tickets? I wouldn’t.

I expect Jamie to come out with a statement soon, and I have to believe he’s been somewhat prepared for this since the Grant of Rights will expire in a couple of years. I recall him making the statement a few years ago that we needed to get very good at football real soon. He’s going to take care of the program and Do what he can. But I don’t think the BIG will expand anytime soon, so we may wind up rebuilding the Big 12 with two new schools.

Testifying
ISU has lost 5 straight to a Big 10 west team. ISU is closer to Minnesota as of late than Wisconsin, Northwestern or Iowa.

KU would easily be the worst team in the division but they would be very, very competitive basketball-wise.
It feels like the last 10, 15 years, Minnesota has played a P5 non con in like half those seasons.
Heck IIRC they didn't play one during an 8 game conference slate once.
So it's not exactly apples to apples.

That West is an absolute trash football league. I guess it really can’t be helped when you’re adding KU to what has been the worst division of a P5 conference for a long time...
Yeah but when KU joins the B1G the automatically jump from >100 to <80. B1G teams aren't allowed to be ranked lower than 80. That bumps everyone's strength of schedule. It's a big, beautiful positive feedback loop to ensure tOSU always has a spot in the CFP.

It's impossible to rebuild the Big XII to anything close to what it was. There would be a massive loss in revenue.

Ever been to a bar on an autumn Saturday in NYC? No Rutgers to be found.
There are still Rutgers alumni in NYC and that is why they were added. I'm sure they are on in more places than you think. The advertising money within that market made them an attractive pick. It's all about money. Like I said if they gave a **** about actually making their product better they would have added Pitt years ago.

I honestly will probably just lose most interest in college sports in general if we're left out. Add the awful direction the NIL stupidity is headed in and its all quickly becoming garbage due to the search for more money.

If the schedule all of a sudden is an AAC schedule it will crater my interest. I wish it weren’t true but it is.

I have a feeling that if we win the conference championship in football this year, it will definitely accelerate TX and OU's exit.

To go a bit further, win the CFP and we would be a LOT more attractive to the conferences.
