Progression of my thoughts while reading that article:
  • Says he went to the KU game - is he really interested in ISU or just wanted a ticket to a big game?
  • Saw list of offers - why is Iowa not on his list of offers?
  • Says he takes pride in his defense - now we know why he isn't interested in Iowa and Fran isn't interested in him.

This guy might be worth a preferred walk on spot. Doesn't look like much of a recruit that would warrant a scholarship over.
Sometimes teams recruit to build relationships for the future. I trust the staff with their evaluation and if they think Colin can play a role early and offer a scholarship then I am all for it.
Since ISU hasn't offered yet though they could let him go to a MVC level program to develop a couple of years and if he decides to transfer up as a Jr/Sr have the ground work set.

With 15 Schollarships we also might be taking a flyer on him. Waukee is getting all the best players. So might as well hand a schollarship out to a local kid who will stick around all 4 years and develope.
