The Iowa State staff is hitting the road on Monday to kick off their 2018 spring evaluation period visits. The list of guys they're seeing today includes a few of the program's commits and some of their top targets for the 2019 and 2020 cycles. Here's some of the names I'm hearing as of Monday morning.
*** Coaches will be in to see commits Jake Remsburg, Blake Peterson, Joseph Thompson and Darien Porter.
*** The only other in-state kid I'm hearing for today is 2020 Greene County offensive tackle, Tyler Miller. Iowa State offered the 6-foot-9, 273-pound offensive tackle at the end of March and he's since added Cincinnati to his offer list as well. At this point, he's considered the No. 37 tackle in the country and No. 4 player in Iowa for the 2020 class.
*** Jason Bargy is one of two four-star prospects for the 2019 class coaches will be getting out to see on Monday. The No. 149 player according to 247Composite in the class has visited Ames twice since the start of the year and has offers from most of the Power 5 programs in the midwest.
*** The other 2019 four-star on the list for today is Omaha Burke inside linebacker Nick Henrich. Iowa State was one of the first schools to offer the Army All-American last spring and now that offer list has grown to 20. Rated as the No. 79 player in the class by 247, Henrich took an unofficial visit to Ames in April.
*** While in at Phillips Academy in Chicago to visit Joseph Thompson, one of the coaches will be seeing classmate Fabian McCray. The two three-star prospects visited Ames together in February for one of the program's junior days and McCray has picked up a few additional offers in the time since. He's considered the No. 12 player in the state of Illinois.
*** Grant Treiber is one of Iowa State's more recent offers for the 2019 cycle as they just extended it on April 6. The Cyclones are the 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect's first FBS offer after North Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota and South Dakota State had all made offers of their own then Eastern Michigan did the same just last week. The Sioux Falls native is not listed with a rating on any of the recruiting services sites at this point.
*** The last guy on the list for today is Fresno, Ca. athlete Leonard Glass. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect is considered the No. 775 player in the class and has offers from Iowa State, Washington State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada and a few other FBS programs. He plays a multitude of positions including running back, wide receiver, safety and cornerback so he's obviously highly versatile.
