Something a couple of the guys did back in my high school was take sticky spray that is supposed to be used with athletic tape and spray it all over the inside of their gloves. No clue whatsoever if it helped, but your son could just try that on his bare hands and it'd be a lot cheaper. :wink0st:

From what I remember most pairs of gloves I had wore out about halfway through the season. I always had different adidas gloves, but it seemed to be that eveyone elses would wear out around the same time. I had a few friends that wore cutters and said they were the the best ones they had tried and I beleive may have lasted a little longer than the other brands.

We always got Neumann's from our coaching staff to wear and they were always nice. They always gave us two pairs...one for home games and another pair for away games.

I always wore Neumann's as well, but we had to pay for them ourselves.

cutters is a good brand but itd consider buying two pairs or even a differnt pair .... one for everyday practice and then also one for games .... i did this my senior year and they lasted the whole year still very clean and also didn't have an odor

I wore neumanns and they lasted the whole year. I still buy them for doing outdoor chores when I am at home at the farm. They work great, really tough. If they still make them the same, go with at least one pair of them. I would recommend two pairs of gloves also, break them both in, and use one pair for practice, and one for showtime. Or home and away. Both ways work.

Oh and tell your kid to go all out every play. Best way to not get hurt is to always be hustling, even in practice. That and watch the beltbuckle. And breakdown. Guaranteed to make the tackle that way.

I've went through 2 pairs of Neumann winter coaching gloves with the cotton insert! They are so warm and comfortable. They are about 45 dollars but well worth the comfort and what not! Are these the ones you are talkign about?

EDIT: Here's a link to them http://www.onlinesports.com/pages/I,MW-NEFBCB.html

This has them at 58 but my last pair I got for 44.99

I still have my Neumann winterized gloves from high school and that was 11 years ago. Granted they were from my senior year and only used in the extreme cold games that year, but they've lasted winters now shoveling, etc. Best gloves I've ever owned.

Oh and they make for excellent tailgating gloves. They aren't bulky like snow gloves and they aren't slippy either. They are real good fit with good grip and warm! You will be very happy!

Thanks. From this discussion I guess I won't expect any gloves to last all season.

He loves the feel and "grab" of the Cutters so we'll probably go with them.
