Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I was watching this Top Ten modern horror classics list on YouTube. It was by a British company, so I trusted it a little more in its list because it didn't list all American garbage, and I realized I had only seen I think one or two movies on the list. It lost a little credibility with me when it put The Conjouring at number 2, because that movie was trash, but it still seemed like a pretty solid list. Let me see if I can dig it up on mobile.

That was easier than I expected.

Seen all of them except Kill List (their #1 choice). Agree that The Conjuring was stupid AF, you should pass on The Sacrament (pointless and boring), and Frontiers is not for those with a weak stomach but was actually quite decent. Can't remember if I've watched The Quiet House. The rest of the movies on the list are good, but not sure if they are really the top 10. I mean, what year did they use as a cutoff?

It didn't say, but I don't think any of those are before 2005, so I'm guessing it was of the last decade (I think the video was made in 2015). I haven't seen Rec, but I did see Quarantine. I know it's not as good, but I actually liked it, so I bet I'd really like Rec.

REC is really good. They're up to REC4 now with the 3rd one taking place at a wedding and the 4th on a boat. Quarantine only had one sequel (Quarantine 2: Terminal), which I actually really enjoyed (strangely, it's 5.3/10 on IMDB, but 86% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes - go figure).

Fixed up my bike after the bike talk the other day and took it out for a bit a couple days ago. Some thoughts on that:

1. Taking the rear tire off the rim completely was dumb. I should have tested the inflation on the tube first before doing that and spending the next 10 minutes getting it back together. Even if it was a busted tube, I should have just popped off one wall of the tire instead of the entire tire.

2. Got my computer back working on it too, although I need to dig out all the parts of my lights. Probably need to go through and tune the gears on it too after disengaging the chain to take off the rear wheel. Front wheels are sooooooo much easier.

3. Got to looking on amazon at parts. Might have to upgrade to a higher quality gear set and drivetrain parts. They are surprisingly cheap.

3. Took the bike out, rode a couple miles, was sore right where the saddle sits. Ordered some bike shorts from Amazon, they get here tomorrow. Hopefully that helps. I haven't ever used them before, but everyone I've heard from who does says they are the only way to ride bikes.

4. Need to remind myself that there is no reason to shift to a high gear and speed going uphill. better to save that for the coasting downhill portion.

Prolly because someone created another thread that's stealing time and attention. We're good, but we can't keep 2 threads constantly bumped.
I know. Pants is an *** hole for creating that thread about helping him find a new show to watch.

Just heard on the scanner at work: "What direction is the moon tonight?"

Ummm....

I started watching GoT yesterday. I'm up to Season 1 Episode 7 now. I borrowed a Blu-Ray of the first season from a friend. Is there a good way to watch the old seasons to get me caught up to the current one?
