The son went to a state math competition at St. Cloud State yesterday. Their school finished 1st at the competition for 7th grade (and 8th grade). Evidently, he was 2 points away from being in the top 10 percent.

When asked what he did with his free time, he said that they ate, got smoothies and mostly just walked around the campus. We saw one of the other kid's parents last night and he mentioned that my son had gotten them lost. When we asked our son about this he said, "I wasn't lost. It just took me a while to figure out a good navigation system."

Call me a fun hater, but April Fools' is right up there with the dumbest 'holiday's around. The only saving grace is that one of my loved ones has a birfday today.

I'm kind of in that right between age where I know both older stuff and today's stuff. I had to youtube the lyrics video to see what the chorus was because it just sounds like she is speaking gibberish.
It's probably like "Louie, Louie" where the actual lyrics are unintelligible and open to your own interpretation about whether they are dirty or not.

These are some of the lamest pranks I've ever heard of.
The oldest daughter gets home from school before the youngest daughter. Last year, the oldest one had this waiting for the youngest one in the bathroom off our mudroom on April Fool's Day.

Anyone CC'ed have any cool senior pranks?

I bet CG did something totally wild and out of this world.

Edit: Are senior skip days still a thing?

Our high school had a central courtyard. One of my classmates was the son of a contractor. Some of our senior class "borrowed" his construction crane and (with help) put a VW Beetle in the courtyard.

Amish guy on the internet????

Stop drinking that coffee. It really is vodka.

I don't know if it's actually true or just a schtick, but AmishClone has claimed to actually be Amish.

what 00 said. Yeah, we've asked about that but never gotten a real response. I know there are different types, but the Amish I knew growing up certainly wouldn't be found debating political topics on CF. I don't know that I ever heard them say a word about politics at all, since they don't participate.

The best prank pulled on my wasn't actually on April fools day. One of my friends told me she was pregnant and had spent the previous few days dropping hints to make it more realistic.

My grandpa used to be into horses and had a buggy for 'joyriding' thru the country. Got his supplies for it at the amish up by Hazelton, IA. Used to get a kick out of going to visit with him when I was elementary aged. Grandpa used to remind us that although they're different, they deserve our respect, even though we don't agree with their choices. Good life lesson, good way to teach it. Got a kick out of seeing an old Farmall M mounted on a steel wheeled wagon, driving belt driven stuff. Remember getting a really good cookie from one of the moms as well one time.
