Rule #1 on recruiting a quarterback (paraphrased from Nick Saban): Never recruit a quarterback that draws attention to themselves; they get all the attention already.
Probably a good idea, but Nick Saban’s QB history is pretty meh. Cam Newton, for example would have done just fine for them.

Probably still had the money had he played HS his senior year. Then he would have had some separation with next year being his RS year. This may come back to bite him.
Not sure what he was expecting walking on campus last summer. Either he didn't like OSU, missing his girlfriend back home (maybe the Spicoli look isn't attractive to Columbus women) or he wasn't going to play.

I hope his NIL $ didn't come from OSU boosters- negative return on that investment.

I hope it did. Maybe that will make some boosters to think twice.

I know, wishful thinking.

So Ewers commits to Texas during his junior year, gets NILed away to Ohio St, skips his senior year and enrolls early. Realizes he’s not going to play anytime soon so he NILs back to a Texas school. Do I have that right?

Kid can make a couple million purely on potential before stepping on the field. Wow.

Why Texas? They can’t even beat us anymore and they can’t make a bowl game. Anyone that wants to play for Texas right now is too hung up on their past.

Way up there
These kids don't have enough on their plate, lets throw some more pressure on them. This will eventually settle down but the next 5 years or so is going to be sickening.

Can't wait until companies are using money to influence playing time for the kids they sponsor.
