Don't think it will happen, but there is a scenario where Penn State blanks Iowa. I think it will come down to Ayala's health and if he is back.

125- LL major Cruz 4-0 PSU
133- Ayala Dec Davis (Davis major if Iowa doesn't go) 4-3 PSU
141- Bartlett Maj Block 8-3 PSU
149- SVN Dec Parco 11-3 PSU
157- Kasak Dec Teemer 14-3 PSU
165- MM Maj Caliendo 18-3 PSU
174- Haines Dec Kennedy 21-3 PSU
184- Cstar Maj Arnold 25-3 PSU
197- Buchanan Dec Barr 25-6 PSU
Hwt- Kerk Dec Kueter 28-6 PSU

If Ayala doesn't go, I think it is 32-3 PSU and I wouldn't be shocked if Barr beats Buchanan. 157 is also a toss up and Teemer could definitely beat Kasak, but I think Kasak will wear Teemer down.

Parco can 100% win as well. I actually probably favor Parco.

SVN has a previous win over Parco 7-2 which is why I have him favored. Parco also hasn't impressed me from neutral this year, but he has improved significantly on top. I wouldn't be shocked if Parco won, but I think you have to favor SVN right now

SVN also beat him 5-1 in all star match last year and SVN has looked better than ever this year. There is no real reason to think Parco would be the favorite, but that doesn't mean he can't win. SVN obviously had an issue on bottom against Lovett and Parco is good on top, albeit not as good as Lovett.

Has he looked better? He just got mauled by Lovett last week. SVN has not been tested much this year. Parco has and he’s passed them all.

Nothing would make me happier than Penn state shutting out Iowa.

FWIW SVN also beat Parco at the 2023 All Star 5-1. I think at best, Iowa wins 2 matches. Your prediction is spot on imo

your prediction for 184 is impossible. Arnold said "book it". I hope he at least gets majored. He is not in the ballpark of Starroci.
I can see Arnold giving CStar a match. Will he win? Likely no, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a decision. Arnold’s defense is top notch.

I too would consider Parco/SVN a toss up, but would lean VN due to it being in Happy Valley.

Teemer/Kasak is intriguing. If Teemer is healthy, he can win that.

Barr/Buchanan is the match of the dual.

while from a watching Iowa get THUMPED while sitting on my couch enjoying an adult beverage

I am 100% in lock step with you

but from a NCAA wrestling fan a #1 vs #2 dual

should be back and forth looking for the upset , hoping the swing match goes your way

this sadly will nothing more than a day at the office for PSU

under any circumstance can't see this match being any closer than 7 matches to 3

If you only look at the score, sure. I guess I'm putting more stock in the fact that SVN has pretty comfortably handled Parco twice before.

Barr from Penn State is a fun freshman to watch. He wrestles at an incredible pace...almost like Cael used to back in college. Just relentless.

What ranking would Iowa have the past two years without all the transfers? It seems like their transfers have been the best wrestlers on their team...but I could be wrong as I don't follow wrestling closely.
