I think nealy will thrive in the pistol. Maybe I have white too low.
That's pretty close to what I was thinking as well.
I too think Nealy will be our leading rusher. I love all our RBs, but I think Nealy might be the best of all of them. In one of the interviews with Kenith Pope, his eyes just light up when someone asks him about Nealy. In fact, he nearly is speechless. He struggles for a second as he tries to come up with the words to describe him.
I'm just not sure about his pass protection though? If he's not great at picking up blitzes, etc. then I could see White getting more playing time and possibly more yards. Although, I think Nealy is going to break some big ones this year, which will help his numbers.
Wimberly has the ability to lead this team in rushing, but I think we could see him catching more passes and screens than he gets in rush attempts, so that will keep his numbers down a bit.
Shontrelle is kinda the "X" factor in all of this. We all know what he's capable of, and that is a LOT, but have the injuries worn on him? Will he be as durable as he needs to be to get a lot of carries? I think he will be more of a 3rd down type RB, so his numbers could be down some as well IMO.
Woody and Standard I think are both this hybrid type FB/RB/TE position. They are grooming Standard to be the next Jeff Woody next year IMO. But neither guy is going to get a bunch of carries IMO. Short yardage plays and at the end of the game when we're just trying to run out the clock and hammer out 1st downs on a tired defense is when these two will get their opportunities. But they won't get enough carries to get a lot of yards IMO.
But I'm keeping my eyes on Nealy this year. I could be wrong, but I just have a feeling that he's the guy. White is easily the leader of the group, but Nealy is more explosive IMO. One thing is for certain though, it sure will be fun to watch all of them!
