Three outages in the last four days in Ames. WTF?

Aw damn, I'm at work but yeah it looks like power's out at home again. Every time it storms this past week we lose power.

Just lost power at work. It had been flickering so I figured it would go out at some point.

our power grid is more fragile than people think, so many trees and then its overloaded in the summer with all the A/C.

Even underground lines/equipment get affected by rain. Power grids are alot of work, thank god its an hour or less outages, in many countries its days or weeks. In the south during ice strorms its also days or weeks.

We actually have 2 best of breed utilities in Iowa with Alliant and Mid American, I am very thankful for that.
