Just don't click on those threads?

It is not so much clicking on them that is the deal, it is that they absolutely litter the main page and not everyone is interested in all that partisan crap. We have an option to not view it on the main site, and it would be nice to have it on the mobile app as well.

Yeah, and navigation isn't all that great in the Android app as it is.

Agreed, there are some angry people on the political forums.

There are a lot of angry people all over this country right now. Kind of frightening to think were this is going. Part of the problem is that our government has zero tolerance for ANYTHING. It used to be that a crime had to be committed and there had to be evidence and there were legal procedures to follow. And people had rights; like the police needed a warrant. That's not the case anymore.

If you want to see how angry people are, go to Foxnews or CNN web sites. Look at the comments on some of the articles; especially controversial ones involving crime, corruption, etc. People are very very angry. Most web sites have problems keeping the anger in check. There was so much hatred on the DM Reg site that they force everyone to register using a verified email address or a facebook account (so they could arrest you if you said something they considered inappropriate). Most other web sites have done the same.

I fully expect that years from now that it will come out that 10,000s of people were arrested and jailed between 2008 and 2012 for putting stuff on bulletin boards/forums which the authorities considered "threats". Remember all the worry about racists disrupting the election when Obama ran the 1st time. Hard to disrupt an election when you are sitting in jail.

I think we are in an era of McCarthyism (McCarthyism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia); its just that people don't know it yet. Scary to think were all this is going.

Wow, I felt like I needed a tinfoil hat when I read that.

Thanks though, I think you perfectly showed why a lot of people don't want to see the politics board.
