Just moved into our new house a couple weeks ago. Now that the unpacking is nearly complete, it's time to start thinking about the important things!

I want to get a Ping Pong table for the bar area. (Not ready for the pool table or combo yet).

I'm looking to the collective CF wisdom and experience to help me find the right one. I want a fairly decent one (not a cheap one from Kmart, etc.) that will last a long time and endure 3 younger kids. It needs to fold up (which I believe most do). I also want to make sure the net system isn't garbage like so many I've seen, where the bracket clamps on the table and end up ruing the table.

Any way, thanks for your insight! Happy Friday!

Go to Walmart and grab yourself a retractable table tennis net with included paddles and balls and you have yourself a dining room arena!

Kidding.. I can't wait until I have the space for a very good ping pong table.

Get crap paddles for the kids, but spend extra to get good paddles for the adults... well worth it. Will make a huge difference in your game, if you take it half way seriously.

I was raised playing ping pong. Great family game. Got the gold medal in Iowa Games, and I'm not asian.

Get a custom paddle with the pips and blade for your style of play. My paddle cost me around $60 but it was so worth it!

Sorry to hi-jack, but....

I live in Marion and have a ping-pong table I would GIVE to someone. We are moving soon and I don't want to haul it. I forgot the brand but it's in very nice shape. PM me if interested.

I got a very solid Prince (Sears) table a few years ago for south of $150, has been a very good value.

I'll bet you and I have the same model. I'm quite happy with it and my kids and I were using it just last night.

Not sure about you but I assembled the thing by myself and it was one of the dumber decisions I've made in years.

That brings back bad memories. We bought it as one of "santa's" gifts, so I had to hide the parts in the basement until Christmas Eve. Didn't get started on it until about 1030pm that night. I think it was close to 2am before I finished the damn thing.

That story is almost identical to mine.
