Ok, so I'm paroozing the DMR sports page online, and they have this pic titled "high school wrestling preview" (see linky below).... is it just me, or is that a really, I don't know a better way to put it, BAD picture to use? basically just a zoomed in snap of a kid wincing in the pain of defeat? wouldn't a better pic be of two wrassler's squaring off at the start of a match? I know there aren't many fans of the DM rag on here, and seeing this kind of selection of captivating photos, I can understand the dislike for the paper.

The kid is in the process of getting stuck. Probably a cradle or something like it. There's a forearm under the neck. There probably could have been a better picture though.

Could be worse - they could have shown this pic again...

Anyone remember the wrestling picture in the RAG at (I think) last years State Wrestling tournament of the cheerleaders from Saydel. Now that was funny.

I agree. They could have chosen a more appropriate photo then that. Getting your butt kicked and wincing in pain is part of it, but it isn't the best way to portray the sport.

Why is that a "BAD" picture to use? Because someone lost? I see nothing wrong with it at all.

just a matter of opinion I guess 62.... it's not the fact he's losing, it seems there could have been a better pic than a zoom in of some kids grimacing face. I would say the same thing if it was a zoom in of some kid's face playing basketball or looking into a mask of a football player.

Man I was just looking for and about to post that picture from last year...nice job!

I didn't see anything wrong with this one.

Wresting is a sport of endurance, toughness and - fighting through the pain.

Apparently I don't get it. What's offensive about it?

People, most not understanding the sport, said the cheerleaders were gasping at the kid being "on display" instead of nearly getting hit. What's hilarious, is that it doesn't matter if the wrestler was there or not, they could have been staring the entire match because :gasp: singlets don't leave much to the imagination.

In short, people like to complain.

It would have been a bad picture if it was with the article, but as it was set up, as the link, I thought it was pretty good, showing the actual sport up close.

Yeah, they actually do get a topic or two from the site now and then. CF has been mentioned, just as some of the other sites.

I highly doubt that photo discussion will get resurrected. If so...wow...
