Pancheros tortillas are better, but the proteins are better at Chipotle, IMHO.

But they both pale in comparison to Qdoba.

I know it might sound weird, but Qdoba's soup beats anything on Chipotle/Pancheros menu.

Best way to tell if it is going to be good Ponch or bad Ponch is by the employees working there. Hispanic = Good, White = Bad.

I haven’t been disappointed by the one on Kirkwood Blvd, but I don’t have overly high expectations either.
The taco depot down the road keeps them honest as well.

I forgot about that one I used to go there during my brief stint working at TA. The employees were always really nice

The Johnston Pancheros is the best by far. If your into burrito bowls, Chipotle is better than Pancheros.

Johnston and WDM on Jordan Creek Pkwy are the same owners I believe. Both do a great job

Wife and I have never understood why that one is run so poorly. That location is largely the reason why I have since shifted my loyalty to Chipotle. That and the fact that every time I get Pancheros the tortilla sticks to the wrapping and tears apart when I open it, that never happens with Chipotle.

I have a working theory that the only good pancheros are the ones who have been in same location for 15+ years. The newer ones are all franchises and therefore suck

The chipotle drive thru lane in waukee is a lifesaver with a young child.
