I actually hadn't heard the full album all the way through until recently by chance. I always see it on top 10 and top 100 album lists and had been meaning to for years.

I go to Amoeba record store in LA almost every sunday...anybody who enjoys these threads should make it their #1 destination if they are ever in LA...and they were playing the full album while I was shopping, instantly walked to the "T" section and bought it. It's the biggest record store in the country and sadly they're being forced to move by the owner of the building in a year or two, hopefully their new space is just as gigantic.

Sounds awesome. I love browsing through record stores. I used spend way too much time at Peeple's Records in Ames.

I was thumbing through the "R" albums in the Muskieville Mall Musicland when I came across that cover. At 15, it was a WTF moment, how did this get out in public?

Quite lush shrubbery!

What year was that? When this was originally released in 1974 the cover was censored. Later on as things became less strict the reissues of the album were done with the original cover.

Heard this in the MRI headset while getting a medical exam thingie today. Should have thought of it sooner, I have the album.

It's far beyond the star-it's near
Beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt my heart will
Lead me there soon
We'll meet beyond the shore

Hadn't seen it yet. Repeat post of this song, but that's kinda how things go with this song and specifically this version.

Heard this tonight...forgot about it.

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?

Even though I get a lot of music through streaming, I also still love record stores. I haven't browsed a good one recently -- combination of location and relative shopping priority.

Similar to book stores, I've mostly made the jump to e-book format, but any chance I get to saunter through a physical book shop, it's an opportunity I'd hate to lose completely.

Songs 100 years old so pick an artist. I'm going with the late Redbone.

In my school days, this was the song of choice the boys sang when they came back from a night of drinking in downtown Ames. At that time, bars were not allowed within __ miles of campus; a stipulation Mary Greeley put in her grant for the hospital that bears her name. A few years after I graduated someone noted that, in as much as she had been dead for years, she probably wouldn't mind and the council allowed bars in campus town.
