A couple from Hall & Oates!

This single followed 4 straight top-5’s, three which went gold, so not a big surprise it fell through the cracks. Still, it reached top 10.

“Did It In a Minute” (1982) #9 U.S.

This was last of three releases from H2O (each was top 10)

“Family Man” (1983) #6 U.S.

These songs make think about the the old K Tel compilation records.

I've always liked this song--not one the band is well known for. It's peak was only #49 in 1975. The lead singer was Blondie Chaplin. I'm not sure he's shown in any of the accompanying pictures.

“So Lonely,” released in 1978 right after their much larger hit “Roxanne” and a little before “Message in a Bottle.”

Anything by Maria Muldaur*. All over the radio in 1974 or so.

Anything by Petula Clark. All over the radio in 1964 and 1965.

Never to be played again.

* Saw Muldaur in the late '70's in a very small concert bar venue (maybe the Cabooze). Was general admission and we were late and bar was mostly full with standing room only left. Think the bouncer fancied my gal (couldn't think of any other reason) because he motioned us to follow him and he sat us at a reserved table directly in front of the stage.
Maria Muldaur reminded me of another singer - the disaster movie theme queen Maureen McGovern:

(Although she wasn't the one singing in The Poseidon Adventure, she recorded the song and her version became the hit)

And just for kicks & giggles:

I saw Cocker at Hilton Coliseum in, I think, 1974. The show was dense with smoke, and they banned smoking soon thereafter-maybe because of it.

Can't remember if someone already posted this earlier. If so, apologies. For no reason, it sprang into my head after I woke up this morning. This song went to #3 in U.S., the group's biggest hit by far, I rarely hear it anywhere now.

While doing research for future OTNs, this came to mind indirectly. I don't think it was mentioned in this topic. SIAP.

Lennon's only solo chart-topper on Billboard. Features harmony vocals and piano by Elton John. Doesn't seem commonplace on retro-radio.

(Add'l note: I don't recall the tempo being this fast :)).
